I enjoyed eating the Dirty Mouth appetizer, Kiss of Fire and Atomic Bomb sushi rolls. I was expecting the Dirty Mouth appetizer to be spicy, but instead it was mild but chock full of great flavors. The crab and the flavor from jalapeno was mild yet flavorful, and had a crispy coating and perfect dipped in the Spicy Mayo condiment. The Kiss of Fire sushi roll was fresh, spicy, sweet and so delicious. The tuna was complemented by the fresh and spicy jalapenos, the sweet heat from the chili sauce and a hint of smoky heat from the hot sauce. My wife loved the Steak & Chicken Hibachi, and the Spicy Girl sushi roll. Unfortunately the Rich Salmon flavor profile was strange. It was overpowered by the flavors from the Yum Yum sauce. Our son loves the Chicken Katsu. It is his favorite meal.
My wife ordered the Spicy Girl sushi roll, and it had a nice crunch with a hint of spice. I had the Atomic Bomb and enjoyed the exotic flavors of the eel sauce, spicy mayo and tobiko. It had a bit of a smoky flavor which I enjoyed. We enjoyed the Katsu Chicken, Hibachi Steak and Hibachi Scallop main entrees. The Chicken Katsu was juicy and had the perfect amount of panko for a nice crunch. Both the Hibachi Steak and Hibachi Scallop we're delicious. Perfect amount of sauce on scallops and beef without it being too much. We also enjoyed the sauce that came with the hibachi meals because was creamy with a...
Read moreFirst, be aware that this is set up for take-out. If, like us, you dine in, you'll get everything served in take-out containers, and pretty much all at once. Drinks are just bottled, from a fridge. Soup, appetizers, and entrees arrived together, as you'd expect when getting food to go. Based on the reviews, we were expecting far better food than we got. My "hot & sour soup" turned out to be just egg drop soup, and pretty bland. My wife's miso soup was better, but still not great. The gyoza was good, as were the egg rolls, but again, not great. Then there were the sushi rolls. I had a "spicy girl" roll, which was well loaded with spicy tuna, but was just OK. My wife had a California roll, which was also barely OK. Frankly, I've had much better sushi from a grocery store. We used to live near an inexpensive sushi restaurant that was worlds better than Mizu. I have to assume that those who gave rave reviews of Mizu have never been to a good sushi restaurant, don't know what to expect. I'm tempted to give it two stars, but at least nothing seemed "off", and service was friendly. It was also a decent amount of food for the price, about in line with an inexpensive sushi joint, not a...
Read moreCalled in before my order since this was my first time and asked if their sesame chicken was crunchy and they said yes.
This was a lie. The sesame chicken is breaded just like how a sweet and sour chicken would be and then sauced up in some weird sauce that is not sesame sauce that you would expect. This is not sesame chicken.
Even if it was the right breading and a familiar sauce the value proposition is not there. I ordered a large portion and it came in a foam container. The chicken and the rice. The portion was smaller than what I'm used to getting at to other Chinese takeout places (this one says it's Japanese but it's the same menu)
Normally when I order Chinese takeout the portions are huge. The chicken is in one container and the rice in another. Not this one.
Whats really disappointing is that with a smaller portion, and a worse product they actually charge more for a meal than any other place I've visited!
There's a better place right across the street called Hong Kong that cooks everything right and you get great value.
The food here was nice, and I ate it all because I wasn't going to let that money go to waste, but I wouldnt reccomend this place over any other. I...
