I took my daughter here tonight. Being a Friday, I expected a wait and was pleasantly surprised to be seated quickly. It took about ten minutes for a server to get our drink order (she may have come by when my daughter needed to use the restroom, so I'm not being too harsh). My daughter loved that the train brought us our drinks and enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere. About ten minutes later, a server finally came by and asked if anyone had helped us yet. I mentioned that someone had just gotten a drink order. The waitress took our order quickly and assured us she would get it in quickly for us. I inquired about a takeout order when she brought our appetizer out, and she said she would check on the time when she brought our other food out. Here's where the real waiting took place. About thirty minutes after we put in our order, our waitress brought our order out, which was hot and fairly tasty with plenty of apologies as well. She sat down for a second and quickly explained that she had been given a table of about fifteen people. Having worked in food service (and currently retail), I understood and said so. Someone else might have had an issue with her sitting down being "unprofessional" but I know servers in places like these don't necessarily get a chance to catch their breath. She went back to work, and I didn't see her again until I was trying to leave. A busboy brought me my bill, and I asked him if I was supposed to pay him or take it up front. He was very awkward and didn't say much other than, "uhhh, sure." He seemed fairly young. After that, I waited about ten minutes. At that point, I went to the front counter to see if there was an issue. When I told them what table I had been sitting at, there was a slow flurry of activity. After another ten minutes or so, my suspicion was confirmed: my card had been lost. My bank app showed that the card had been run, so it at least made it to the counter. The manager seemed wary of talking to me, I assume because he thought I was going to be mad. Upset at the inconvenience of losing my debit card on Friday night, sure, but I understand things happen, especially on a busy Friday night. While the manager seemed unsure of what to do, my server paid me back from my bill. If she had been more communicative during the meal that she was tied up with a large party, a good part of this review would be null. However, she was excellent, and her customer service was pretty good. All said and done, I'm only out my debit card (which was cancelled as soon as I got into my car), so I can't complain too much. The optimist in me hopes that the card fell into the trash, the cynic in me wonders how many debit and credit cards are "lost"...
Read moreWe came to celebrate our son's birthday earlier this evening. We have been a few times before and always had a goo experience.. until today. We had a party of 11 originally, and our daughter and a couple others arrived early to get seats for the rest of us. They sat them at a booth and put a table next to it (which to make it even with the booth, it blocked the way from anyone getting in/out of that booth). The hostess told them that they were giving us the booth, the table she put next to the booth, and also a table that was in the corner diagonal from the booth. She said we could do what we wanted with the tables, move them wherever we wanted. After we arrived, and after seeing the seating arrangement, I asked a waitress if there were any other areas where we could all sit together. She said no, there were just booths and the tables we were given, except there was a party room, but it was only for parties over 20 people. I said okay and went back to the original seating. We figured since the hostess said we could put the tables wherever we needed, we put the second 4 seat table from the corner next to the other table at the booth. Next thing we know, the same waitress who was asked about larger seating area and some man in a blue shirt came over. He was immediately hostile and rude, saying we could not block the large doorway (which was not even CLOSE to being blocked). My husband told him that his staff said otherwise, and to make sure he let's them know. He said he was the "big cheese here" and that he didn't have to tell his staff because he was telling us now. I cannot even fully describe how rude and mean he was. It was almost like he wanted to fight my husband or something? The man then told the waitress that we sit in 2 booths or party room. Most would say, "Well he offered you the party room, so why not just go there?" Well I asked the waitress if he has a manager.. and she said he was THE OWNER. We have NEVER been to a place that treated us so rudely over something that I don't even understand. We waited for the rest of our party to come and we left and ate somewhere else. Their loss! We will NOT be back. I refuse to support such an unprofessional, rude, awful person. I suggest you go elsewhere in case you have a run in with him as well. So disappointing. We drove from out of town because our son loved this place....

Dining areas could use extra cleaning and a shame they use Styrofoam for to go drinks, as it's not eco-friendly. Four stars for food and service.
Craved Pizza King on my visit to Indy and my mom and I went to this location. I have also had delivery the week prior.
Location is well maintained. Interior booths could use extra cleaning, specifically the train windows had kids smushed fingers prints all over it.
Service was very friendly. Our server was a teen girl who was extremely friendly and sweet.
The trains are still pretty cute. I could have lived without a big patriotic train though with eagles and flags all over it. But, Indiana loves its patriotic stuff.
We tried pretzel breadsticks at my mom's choice. They were bearable, but, I've never been a fan of Pizza King breadsticks. They were pretzel in look, but had no salt on them. I ate one and called it the quits.
We asked for potato skins but they were out, they have not been able to find a new supplier for potato skins so they are not offering them at this time.
I had a salad when I got my pizza delivered and thought it was a screw up - shredded iceberg lettuce like is served on tacos with one tiny chopped tomato and cubed mozzeralla on top. It was terrible, but the Italian dressing was great. Turns out this is how some locations serve their salads. I will not get it again.
Was happy to see our sodas and waters served in reusable plastic cups. I have been frustrated by the amount of single use plastic and Styrofoam in Indianapolis. The to go cups are Styrofoam. I really wish they'd move away from that and modernize to something more eco-friendly (paper or biodegradable).
10" cheese pizza was delicious and hit the spot in that unique PK way!
I'd go back to this location, but, would like to check out others next visit. The one I grew up with is in Greenwood and has moved from its original location. However, the trains are fun and a unique attraction.
p.s. If they would have had a t-shirt with the King on it I would have bought...
