I discovered the Smoking Goose online and had to come and check it out. It didn't disappoint! The public smokehouse is located in a quaint neighborhood, across from a tiny dog park and a stone's throw away from Mass Ave. district.
The staff is quite knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. The Cotto Salame and Stagberry Salame I purchased were delicious! Still have to open the Smoked Kitchen Sink Sausage and Pho Summer Sausage. You can find other non-meat items: local ceramic items. They offer a variety of cheeses and a "wall" of fish tins, too. I also took their whole hog butchering class. While it was an overall positive experience, I felt the description was misleading: the class was more a tour and then a butchering demo. There was very little hands-on butchering which was unfortunate. Again, it was a positive experience but I would recommend updating the class description to make it a little more obvious what the experience will entail as I was a little...
