My group and I were visiting from out of town for a conference and were excited to try Futuro Pizza, a spot that looked promising and was conveniently located nearby. With a mix of dietary needs—especially for our vegan companions—we were glad to see that the menu offered inclusive options.
We placed a large order: three small pizzas, one large pizza, breadsticks, and two additional vegan pizzas that we ordered in person due to the online system not allowing for special instructions. The atmosphere inside was charming—artwork from what appeared to be local artists, family photos on the walls, and even a Mike’s Hot Honey arcade game. We felt welcomed and hopeful for a good meal.
At the counter, we clearly communicated that we had a DoorDash order and were adding two vegan pizzas. The staff member assisting us confirmed and repeated the order back, including the request for vegan cheese, which we agreed to pay extra for. She acknowledged the upcharge and assured us it was no problem.
After receiving the initial order, we waited and eventually had to step up and ask about the remaining vegan pizzas. Only then were we told—by the cook, who appeared to be the manager—that the pizzas had been made incorrectly with regular cheese, despite the order ticket clearly stating “vegan.” No one proactively informed us of the mistake or the delay. When the remake finally arrived and we checked the pizzas, they had no vegan cheese at all.
When we brought this to the manager’s attention, we were met with a condescending explanation: “we’re all human, mistakes happen.” Instead of addressing the concern with professionalism, she doubled down and told us vegan cheese is expensive and we’d need to pay again if we wanted it added—despite the fact that we had already ordered and was clearly notated on the receipt. When I requested a small container of vegan cheese to fix the issue ourselves, she refused unless we paid specifically for the vegan cheese.
This interaction left us incredibly frustrated. Not only was the mistake not communicated, but the blame was subtly shifted onto us, even though we had repeated the order in detail multiple times and had it confirmed. The lack of accountability, dismissive attitude, and unwillingness to offer even a small accommodation was both disappointing and disrespectful.
Nearly $200 later, we left feeling disrespected and unheard. While the person at the register may have been inexperienced, leadership should’ve stepped up to resolve the issue with grace—not sarcasm and...
Read moreI paid ~$55 (tax and tip included) for a 16" thin crust pizza with three veggie toppings, no cheese, and no protein.
tl:dr--- The pizza and the people are great. I had a bad experience. I probably won't be back because the 16" vegan options at Futuro are "pay ~$22 for pizza without cheese or protein" "pay ~$28 for pizza w/ vg sausage and no cheese" "pay ~$34 for pizza w/ vg cheese" ...and get two fresh toppings for free. The sauce was great. I think I just need to accept that this high quality pizza is something that I will need to spend $20-30 for. Here's the story.
I started by asking about Futuro's vegan options. Christopher, the cashier, said the crust was vegan and suggested the vegan sausage and cheese. Awesome. I'm excited. He rung us up, I learned that the sausage was an additional $6 and the cheese was an additional $12. I said nevermind on the vegan cheese.
Here's where I messed up - after declining the vegan cheese, I didn't explicitly ask for the pizza not to have cheese. When it came out, the pizza looked delicious and super cheesy. This was confusing, because we spent all that time talking about Futuro's vegan pizza offerings. I guess I thought it was assumed that I didn't want cheese on a vegan pizza.
I brought the pizza to the counter and described the situation. Christopher talked to the chef, Luke, then came back to the counter and told me that Luke would split the cost of the next pizza with me. That seemed generous of Luke, and I figured if he was going to have to pay for half of the next pizza, then he was going to have to pay for all of the first pizza if I pushed the issue. I agreed and paid.
The second pizza came out quickly and was delicious. It didn't have vegan sausage on it but I didn't really care because I was hungry and honestly didn't remember if I ordered the second one with it or not. Christopher let us stay and eat while he closed.
I wish I hadn't paid $55 for a 16" thin crust pizza with three veggie toppings, no cheese, and no protein. I left feeling hungry and a little cheated, even though Christopher provided excellent service and Luke paid $12 for half of my...
Read moreWe visited today and ordered the Summer Hot Dog Pizza. We were excited to try it because it looked delicious ( based on the Facebook posts). The crust was perfectly cooked, and the chili and zip from the onions was a perfect balance to the chili sauce. Unfortunately the hot dogs were flavorless. I am not sure why the hot dogs were flavorless, and due to that I was not impressed with the Summer Hot Dog Pizza. The Tavern Style pizza with pepperoni and meatballs was delicious. The crust was thin and had a nice snap to it, and was baked to perfection. The spiciness from the pepperoni, and the garlic from the flavorful meatball made this pizza amazing.
Delicious food. A fun and laid back atmosphere. My wife and I agree that we love the Chicken Limo, and the Meatball & Garlic is just as delicious.
What a great find in downtown Indianapolis. The Detroit style pizza with crispy cheesy edges is very delicious, and is quite similar to Sicilian style pizza. We ordered the Chzr, Chicken Limo, Meatball & Garlic and a Build Your Own with sliced and ground pepperoni, and enjoyed all of them. The Chicken Limo is a buffalo chicken style pizza with a ranch sauce base. Definitely flavorful, and the bacon added smoky notes that made this pizza even more delicious. The ranch sauce base was delicious, but could use a little more buffalo sauce to add a bit more spice to the flavor profile. The Meatball & Garlic pizza was out of this world because the meatballs had lots of flavor and enough moisture to make them soft not mushy. The melted cheese and red sauce married with the garlic and meatballs made this pizza a can't miss to order. Delicious red sauce with the crispy pepperoni and gooey cheese was a winner as well as the Chzr pizza. Well worth the visit, and cannot...
