I literally had the best cup of coffee here, that I can ever remember having. And I say that as someone who considers myself to be a very discerning coffee drinker.
This is literally the first google review that I have ever written, because I don't really like posting public things on Google, but I felt compelled to do it for Kaffeine Coffee Co. in Indianapolis, because of how genuinely impressed I was by their coffee.
I forget the exact name of the coffee that I tried, but I know for sure, that it was the darkest roast, single origin coffee that they serve. And I ordered an entire french press of that particular coffee. And I have to say, that it tasted absolutely perfect. Five stars out of five. It tasted so good from the very first sip. Immediately I could tell, that there was very low acidity and bitterness to the coffee, and immediately I could taste its great flavor. And it had a great mouth feel to it.
If you are looking for a great coffee experience, I cannot recommend enough, Kaffeine Coffee Co., in downtown Indianapolis. And I strongly recommend trying a french press version of their darkest roast coffee. It tastes perfect.
The overall environment of this cafe is very good as well. The young gal behind the counter was very friendly and courteous. I usually like to use my laptop or read a book at cafes, and this place is great for that. Parking is pretty good at this cafe as well: you just park directly in front of the cafe itself. I can't comment on the food that is served here, because I only came to try the coffee, and I usually don't eat carbs very often.
I wish this coffee company all the best in the future, and for people who are very discerning when it comes to the quality of coffee, this place will definitely not disappoint. You get the impression that Kaffeine Coffee Co. is trying to provide the absolute best coffee experience that is possible, while also being a relaxing, low-key, casual cafe....
Read moreHmm…I really do hate giving poor reviews, but Kaffeine really dropped the ball. They’re getting two whole stars for the ambiance/style and the cashier’s kindness only. Without those things, it would be zero. Let me preface this review by saying their commercial espresso machine was out of order at the time of our visit. They had resorted to using a small, home-use Breville machine. It was actually the newer model of the same machine we happen to have at home. The espresso drinks we ordered (6 oz capp and cortado) were honestly some of the worst we have ever had. Firstly, we waited far too long. We expected to wait a little bit longer due to the machine being used, but after about 10-15 min, we were starting to wonder what was going on so we went up to the counter to check. We never heard anyone call out our order for pick-up. Turned out someone else had snatched up our order without anyone noticing. We were still chill at this point because the girl behind the counter was nice and apologized. We continued to wait as she remade our drinks. Unfortunately, we knew they weren’t any good as soon as she sat them down in front of us. Way too much milk. She made an 8 oz capp and what appeared to be an 8 oz cortado (meaning they weren’t actually a capp or cortado at all). We decided to go back to our seats and give them a taste anyway. Terrible. Nothing but warm milk. Not a single hint of espresso. We were incredibly disappointed. We took two sips, threw them out, and left. Side note: we can’t even blame the machine because we pull fine shots from the same type every day at home. I think the barista was just way out of her element, and she even kind of eluded to that fact while she was making our drinks. However, this has nothing to do with the fact that their espresso drinks are simply the wrong size to begin with. You win some; you lose some. In this case, we lost $10 and 25 min of our time. And...

Day 2 in Indianapolis starts out with a trip to Kaffeine Coffee in the Lockerbie Square area is a craft coffee shop, specializing in? You guest it! Craft Coffee!
This unassuming coffee mecca is an experience in all things coffee and more. Mrs.Keller cashier/barista/customer service extraordinar took us through the craft that makes Kaffeine more than another coffee shop.
My Mr. Chai ordered a Chai Latte that went FAR beyond average. Black, Red, and Green whole leaf tea is first steeped in a craft for 6 minutes(this is important to extract the depths of the leaves and spices). Then it's strained and poured over a sugar cube to give it a touch of sweetness. Steamed whole Milk covers the concoction with a cloud of foaming bliss. Garnished with a line of cinnamon! It was truly something to behold. Plus, it tasted incredible! Spicy, with gentle, floral overtones, and spices that awaken your senses! It was absolutely beautiful.
Your Decaf Diva, risked it all and went for the Spanish Latte. I WAS NOT disappointed! Espresso(Yes the real kind) with sweetned condensed milk AND your choice of steamed milk. It was an inviting variation on the classic latte with a hint of cinnamon to round it out! Marvelous.
If your in the area, go get what they're given....
