Came for the groceries, stayed for the tacos!
In all sincerity, the tacos were amazing and we will be making this our go to when we need that real taco fix. It almost feels a shame that there is a Taco Bell on the same lot as this place.
My wife and I recently moved into the area from Chicago and weren't sure about being able to find really good, true to self food like we could in the city. Boy were we surprised, eating here made me feel like I was right back in Pilsen walking down Cermak!
We ordered one each of their Pastor, Carnitas, Carne Asada, and Chorizo tacos to start off and see how the flavors were, all were topped with cilantro and onions.
First off, the tacos were FILLED, not overfilled and messy, but actually had a generous amount of the meat. Of course this spot is legit so you have the double corn tortillas, all perfectly warmed and sturdy, not a single tortilla ripped!
As soon as we took our first bite of the carnitas taco, we knew we picked the right spot! Juicy, tender, crispy, and flavorful. I could write forever, so I'll just sum it up saying that all four tacos played out the same way! That being said, the carnitas and pastor were our faves.
If you want delicious, true to form Mexican street tacos, come here! I can't wait to try more...
Read moreStopped in last week once again for lunch. It’a one of my favorite spots in South Indy. I got two asada and a pollo taco with cilantro, onion and lime. Great flavor and cooked perfectly with El Milagro corn tortillas. Generous with meat portions as well, that’s what I love about this place. You can also have flour tortillas if you wish. I love that a small Mexican grocery is also tied onto the restaurant. I get many goodies here when I visit. 😁 The staff at this family owned restaurant are always friendly.. Thanks again! PS Don’t pay attention to any crazy one star reviews like from Julie. She’s just another black female hating on a Mexican restaurant as usual from her ignorance. Like I said, the employees, chefs and owners are all great and this is a must try local spot with...
Read moreStopped in Wednesday afternoon/evening after shopping here for over 10 years. I will not return. This associate has always been rude and unwelcoming. This time was no different. No hello. No smile. Nothing. She decided to charge me $6.99 for a regular sized bottle of Cholula hot sauce and $7.99 for a 14oz jar of mayo. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!! She then proceeded to stop my transaction and start a new one with another customer on the second register during my checkout!!!!!! Unbelievable! Someone needs to educate her on the proper way to treat customers! Also, no items are marked with price tags so thats probably how they get away with overcharging people! Watch your totals!...
