Woodbury Taxidermy — Local services in Ingram

I am very disappointed in Woodbury Taxidermy. I was fresh off deployment and had been looking forward to my Axis hunt at West Kerr Ranch (excellent by the way). I was fortunate enough to kill a great buck, and had Woodbury cape and process the deer to send to my taxidermist in Tennessee. First off, the processing job they did was sloppy at best. I am convinced that I didn't get all of my deer - the backstraps were smaller than what I would take off a Maryland doe and I got a ton of ground that I did not ask for. Between Woodbury, my taxidermist, and the tannery, the cape was destroyed in the face area and unable to be used. I was willing to accept that it wasn't Woodbury's fault, but when I BOUGHT a replacement cape from them, my taxidermist was forced to repair an eyelid and sew up EIGHT holes to make it work. I am guessing this place gaffed me off because I didn't use them for the mount. Either way, they are slow, sloppy, and unwilling to accept responsibility for poor workmanship. I now have an excellent mount but I will always know it wasn't the original cape. If you have a trophy kill and are looking to remember it forever, look somewhere else besides...

I have been hunting for quite a while . . I have tried MANY different processors. But I always go back to these guys. I have driven from Uvalde, Hondo, Falfurias, Bulverde and who knows where else to take my Axis or Whitetail to have them process my meats. The Jalapeno cheese smoke rings are the bomb , they always get my order right. It takes them a bit longer than other processors, but my wife knows . . when the gun goes off or arrow :) . . we will soon be in route to Woodbury. Had them do a couple of mounts for me also. Woodbury Meat Market turns my whitetail into over a dozen different meat products that we love! The staple for us is the smoke rings, we always get extra smoke. We grill it straight, use it in breakfast tacos, any number of other dishes. Our next favorite is Italian sausage, spaghetti!
