I brought a laptop here for repair and they said it was likely one of two things. They had told me they received the wrong part so they had to send it back for the correct part. It took 25 days for the entire transaction to complete. I can't remember all the details, but I do remember they said they weren't able to complete the repair- either because they didn't have the parts or tools, or weren't willing to. The options they gave me were pay the repair fee off ~$130 dollars and get my same malfunctioning computer back or buy a refurbished computer from them and they waive the repair fee. The front desk guy was accurate, but barely polite, he's just all business. I decided to purchase a refurbished computer from them, the battery on the computer runs out very quickly. I left disappointed. The refurbished computer was $450+ and not really happy with it.
Update 10/2/22 Owner reached out to me promptly I responded back "Good morning Craig, I appreciate the considerate response. As far as the individual, I don't remember if he had a name tag but he was a little huskier young man, maybe late teens in age. Really, the covid and the young man is a small issue compared to the computer not functioning well. We did not reach out to KMG, because it took time to notice the fast-draining battery. We don't use the computer alot. We will sometimes watch part of a movie or print something or watch some YouTube, but we average less than an hour a day on most days. So we noticed the computer would often need plugged so it didn't die. The computer we recycled with KMG barely lasted a half hour without being plugged in, so we become accustomed to plugging it in at all times. In addition, two nights ago, the computer became stuck on a screen for a couple minutes and I had to press power button to turn it off and back on in order to proceed. I appreciate you getting back to me promptly. Let me know if you are able to help us, thanks"
Let me know if I can bring it in and you can look at it.
Update 10/12/22
Let me start out by saying, you often have concerns when entrusting personal property to someone for it be repaired. KMG is a local business you can trust. The laptop I had purchased had a minor defect. After contacting KMG they immediately attempted to correct the problem. My wife was about to give birth and KMG volunteered to pick up the laptop from my house, so we would have a well-functioning laptop! KMG not only rushed to meet my expectations, but exceeded them by going beyond what a normal business would do. We need more local businesses like KMG. If you have computer needs, KMG is the standard for what you want in a business and the go to for Berkeley county, West Virginia and...
Read moreI've deleted a previous undeserving review and am reposting based on the recent histroy. Around April 22' I had a PS4 Pro sent off for HDMI repair, which lasted about 8 months before becoming faulty again. i brought the system in and paid another $40 for shipping costs to have fixed a second time, this time only lasting around 6 months. Upon leaving a negative review, Zach reached out to me and offered complimentary repair service due to the history of the device. Once the repairs had been made, I spoke with Craig the owner, who apologized profusely for the issue and we discussed what might have been the cause, and also possible solutions. On top of this, Craig informed me that i had a faulty Optical port as well as faulty USB port (which I had knowledge of) and had both of these replaced as well as the HDMI port. What can I say besides exceptional customer service! HDMI ports could be repaired by any old Joe who has a shop and tools, but KMG stands behind their customers and repairs, and they have proven that. Thank you KMG! I will definitely be returning for any future electronic...
Read moreWhen my childhood best friend reached out to tell me that her husbandâs 8-year-old nephew had just been diagnosed with leukemia and would be spending a lot of time at Childrenâs National in Washington, DC, my heart broke for him. I knew I wanted to do something to help make him feel more comfortable and loved during such a difficult time.
I asked if he had a tablet to use while going through chemo and long hospital stays, and when I found out he didnât, I reached out to Craig Gosnell, the owner of KMG Computers, to see if they had an iPad I could purchase for him. Craig immediately responded with kindness and generosityâhe didnât just help, he donated an iPad for Douglas. The very next day, he had it ready for me along with a charger and a case.
Thanks to Craig and his team at KMG Computers, Douglas now has something to keep him entertained and connected during his treatments. He absolutely loves his new iPad and wants to say a big thank you!
KMG Computers went above and beyond, and Iâm so grateful for their generosity. If youâre looking for a business that truly cares about...
