Very disappointed. Saw this place on social media and drove over an hour yesterday to try it out. Horrible experience from the beginning. Walked in and no one said anything, one lady grabbed two menus and we followed again not saying anything. Right away the waitress asked if we were ready without even looking at the menu. I explained this was our first time there and questioned about a sandwich I had saw online. Right away she said real fast we have different sandwiches every weekend so no that was last weekend and said so I guess you need a few moments, I said yes please. We were sitting at a table close to the bar and she stood almost right behind us with her back turned and said are you ready like she couldn’t wait to get us out of there. Not once mentioned specials that I finally saw on the board while we were waiting nor provided us with a drink list or asked us if we wanted something from the bar. Have that nice bar and drinks aren’t mentioned. There was two waitresses and both walked around with horrible looks on their faces and not one time anyone smiled. One of the waitress even answered a call and told them they needed to wait while taking a tables order. I mean how unprofessional. It wasn’t until we left and we’re walking out and the lady behind the counter cooking yelled out to us thank you for coming hope you come back. Pretty sad that was the only friendly encounter was when we were leaving. Spent over 60 bucks and will not return or recommend to anyone. Food was okay but nothing beats that nasty stuck up feeling. Really sad that ruins small town businesses but I will...
Read moreI heard about this place only because someone asked if I had been here since it was so close to my house. I had to say I didn't know it existed. After visiting I see why. It's completely obscured behind the sprawling obstruction known as Jaydees. So you can't see it from the main road. Once you turn onto Henshaw which is where the restaurant sits the building is positioned in a way that the front door is facing away from oncoming traffic and the only sign is above the front door. The side wall facing the main street makes it appear to be just a garage or abandoned storage. Would definitely recommend a sign or mural on the side wall facing the road.
The food itself was alright. I like that they seasoned their fried pickles. And the "Liberty Bell" that I had tasted like a Philly cheesesteak. .
Sadly I can't currently recommend this place to any of my friends and family. The Mac and cheese my kids had was creamy but they didn't want to finish it and I tasted it and found it a bit bland. I've had better crab dip but it's a sandwich shop so idk what there is to expect there. My sandwich tasted like a Philly sub and considering it was $15 FOR JUST THE SANDWICH with no sides it made me wish it was a sub. The sides are separate and the least expensive is $5. If I would've had a sandwich and fries it would've been $20 by itself. I ordered what is shown. Liberty Bell. Crab dip. Pickles. And I got 2 Mac and cheese sides. One for each kid. This came out to $75. For what I got I just can't justify coming back. It was nice to try but too rich...
Read moreWe visited this spot after seeing it all over social media and hearing great things from locals about their “to die for” grilled cheese sandwiches. While the menu sounded promising, our experience didn’t quite live up to the hype.
We tried the OG Grilled Cheese, the Hot Hen, the Jewel, and Country Roads. They were good — but nothing mind-blowing or particularly memorable. We also shared the mac and cheese bites and the loaded tots. The mac bites tasted like fried Kraft mac and cheese that completely fell apart, and the tots were unexpectedly (and uncomfortably) sweet, which threw us off.
The atmosphere was cute, but with no air conditioning on a hot day, it definitely took away from the experience. Our waitress seemed more focused on her phone than her tables — she only checked on us once, didn’t refill our drinks, and we never received a printed receipt like the tables around us. Instead, we were handed a mobile terminal with no breakdown of our bill.
We truly want this place to succeed — we love supporting small businesses, and there’s a lot of potential here. But for now, it felt more like style over substance. A few improvements in food consistency, service, and comfort could make a...
