I brought my Evinrude E-Tec 25hp in to have a diagnostic test done, after I was told that this particular dealer knew the in's and out's of a Evinrude E-Tec outboard. I explained that the motor was not getting fuel to the injectors and that I thought it was probably a problem with something electronic, that was not letting the fuel get to the injectors. I explained that I could take a spark plug out and poor gas on top of the cylinder and the motor would start but die a couple of seconds later. This was all recorded in my profile. I explained that I had changed the high pressure fuel pump/water separator, just a couple of days before I brought the boat in. All I wanted was a computer diagnostic test to tell me why I was not getting fuel to the injectors. I received a email, without a phone call, that stated the dealer wanted to and recommended me changing the high pressure fuel pump/water separator, change the spark plugs, anodes, water pump, thermostat and seals, non of which needed to be changed and if they did need to be changed, I could do them myself. I was also charged for them putting a fuel pressure gauge on my motor, in the tune of $157.00. I was told that the fuel pump was energized by some type of source and that it was bad. When I got home, I used a 12 V battery to power the fuel pump and IT WORKED FINE. Be very cautious and do not let these characters do anything to you boat or motor before they talk to you. I was lied to and they thought they were dealing with any Joe blow but I am...
Read moreDo not bring them an Evinrude Etec for warranty work. I brought mine in and it sat there for 8 months with me calling to check in every month and they kept telling me that the were waiting on parts to build a manifold in order to troubleshoot the motor. I ended up calling BRP warranty just to check up and make sure something is being done because the owner told me from day one that BRP is hard to get anything done with the motors. I called Power Implements and they told me the status was the same as last time, that they have been working with BRP testing components and they still haven't figured anything out and are waiting on BRP to let them know what else they can try so I let them know that my last update from them was that they were still waiting on the parts to build the manifold in order to test it. That didn't sound right so I called BRP warranty and told them what was going on and they stated that nothing has been done by Power Implements and that they are very sorry that this happened and BRP also showed the 3 times that I contacted them checking on things.' Update, I brought my motor to another Evinrude dealer and in 3 days, it was diagnosed and Evinrude is shipping the part asap. The options that the owner is talking about is he offered 1000.00 for the motor for scrap or trade boat and motor in and purchase a new one...
Read moreI brought my boat trailer in for some needed repairs. I'm giving them 2 stars because they did the work I asked for and it was well done. However they said that they would put a slick plastic cover over the runners but they put carpet over the runner. Normally I would have overlooked this, but they also added $26.81 to my credit card over the amount on the invoice. A credit card surcharge. I was not informed verbally when I handed over my credit card of the surcharge and it is not clear on the estimate or on the invoice that there is a surcharge. I called to complain about not being informed of the surcharge and the person over the phone was rude and not at all helpful. So, actually I would have given them 4 stars on the repair and one star on customer service. They don't want to hear complaints. The person even said that he wasn't my psychologist. I was actually just trying to let them know that they need to be more upfront with credit card surcharges, if they had been I would have paid by check or cash. This was a most...
