Go to the location on 5594 Sunset Blvd instead!! My friend and I came to the irmo store last week, and had a very disappointing experience.
I tried to explain to the employees that I wanted to do the foot measurement process first so that I could know where to start with my podiatry needs. I said I’ve worn holes into 3 previous pairs of shoes, and am looking for new power walking shoes. The first employee I interacted was an older gentleman who never addressed me again after asking what I was there for. The second employee was a younger woman who asked “are you ready to buy shoes today”. When I said “im not sure because it depends on what’s available here in the store, but I want to buy new shoes from you guys”, she followed up with “the only thing I can do for you is measure your foot with the basic metal measurer, because you have to say you’re buying shoes in order to get the full process”. I left without doing anything further, and called the Lexington store.
The Lexington location confirmed they do the full measurement process, for free, without you needing to promise you’ll buy shoes at that moment. The phone employee said it’s the Fleet feet policy that you don’t have to buy in order to be measured. At the Lexington store, Kenny and Phil were phenomenally helpful! I got to discuss my digital foot scan, was measured with the basic metal measurer, had my feet/ arches evaluated for insoles/ shoes to try, and they watched my walk. They answered every question that I had, and I’m so grateful.
I purchased the discounted socks I used in the store, as well as the saucony guide 18s which are so comfortable it’s like I’m walking on a cloud!! I’ve been wearing them for almost a week and I loved my experience so much I’ll be going back to that location for some upgraded insoles, socks, and my next pair of shoes.
Go to the sunset location and ask for Kenny or Phil if you’re tired of previous shoe shopping experiences!! $150+ is too much to spend for such a disappointing customer experience like...
Read moreRude! Rude!, Rude!- the lack of customer service by the staff is unbelievable! We were referred there to have an orthotic insert made for our sons athletic shoes by his orthopedist. It was an absolutely horrifying experience, salesman was unprofessional and snooty. Evidently, since we weren't there to buy shoes as runners, he didn't want to take the time to wait on us. Once the salesman did, decide to wait on us, he completely disagreed with the Orthopedist diagnosis, who had referred us. Wanted to ask him (salesman) where he received his M.D? Told us complete opposite information from orthopedist. Told us he would take care of what was needed. He couldn't even figure out how to work the ipad program! Paid for orthotic inserts when we ordered them- he said they would call when they came in. Received a call to let us know pick up inserts, went in today, and the sales lady was beyond RUDE! We signed in on clipboard on door and waited outside for over 30 minutes- watched approx. 6 people walk out and the door remain unlocked - finally decided to go in as no one ever followed up, as clipboard said they would. When I walked in, with only three people in the whole store, the sales lady accused me of jumping in front of another couple who had literally just pulled up in the parking lot and had not even signed in. She told me I should not jump in front of anyone and I said I was the one signed in on the clipboard- she asked what I needed- explained just needed to do a pickup for ortho inserts. She asked our name five times - and then asked my son his name three times- said she couldn't figure out how to get the computer to work to check out- then just gave us the inserts and dismissed us. Surprise! Surprise! The inserts DO NOT FIT in my sons shoes! At least two sizes too big! But the sales lady wouldn't know that, because she didn't take the time with him to put inserts in his shoes to make sure they fit. If I could give this store a negative star review, that would still...
Read moreI went in after a recommendation from someone who got a good fit for shoes. I first looked around to see what shoes they had and then decided to get fit for shoes after talking to a staff member about what I was looking for… something for all day comfort while standing, running errands, how I typically didn’t like the way inserts felt, and mentioned a previous broken foot injury. I signed in and then was measured for shoes where she then said she’d find something a little wider for my toe box. From my point of view it seemed like my heel to toe measurement was just over an 8 and my toe box measuring wider. The first two pairs (same brand) felt very long and there was a lot of movement when I walked, but she said that it’s better to have a thumbs length of room. I noticed the boxes seemed to be a size 10 (I normally find a 9 and sometimes a 8.5 the best length), but I wasn’t 100% sure what I saw and tried two other brands. The last pair (Hoka) overall felt great, I said they did feel like I was leaning into my heel a lot. She said it would just take me a day or so to get used to and said Hoka’s run a little flatter and the heel and toe height are usually the same versus other brands. She said I didn’t have to make a decision then and could come back or order on their website. I said that’s true and I didn’t mind doing that. She cleaned up the 4 boxes, but didn’t tell me the shoe style of the Hoka til I asked, but never told me the size and I felt too uncomfortable to follow up. So even if I came back or ordered online, I’m not sure how I would know what to ask for. While she was relatively nice, she didn’t provide a lot of information during the fit and try on process, and I felt like I was met with a you’ll get used to it or that’s how it should be with anything I told her I didn’t like. Aside from learning about the Hoka heel and toe height, I don’t feel like I’m any closer to finding shoes and have no interest in returning to...
