Lita's Treats — Local services in Irmo

My husband suggested we try this place out because he wanted a treat and some coffee, unfortunately they don't serve coffee. We walked in and were instantly greeted by the nice lady behind the counter. We perused the small selection they have available, maybe 15 things to choose from at the counter. We ultimately decided on three cupcakes, a slice of cake and 2 bottled teas. All of that with a discount was just under $25.

On to how they tasted: Everything was very moist. They did however lack in flavor, for that price you would think it would be a bold flavor. For the banana pudding cupcake my husband said it was good but tasted more like banana cream pie. He liked the cupcake part of the chocolate on chocolate but the icing tasted almost like baking cocoa, not sweet. I had the blueberry lemon cupcake, there was a hint of lemon in the icing but mostly tasted of a berry flavor that wasn't distinguishable, the cake part was moist but tasted like vanilla. My favorite part of the cupcake was that they used fresh blueberries in it. I would have liked to taste more of the lemon flavor in it. I also got the key lime cake, very moist and sweet icing, it had a hint of citrus flavor, there is a little bit of zest in the batter, other than that it tastes like a vanilla cake unless you get a flake of lime zest.

Overall, the lady was helpful and nice. The desserts were very moist cakes but we thought there would be more flavor for the price. To us it isn't worth spending the money for not...

Bought red velvet cupcakes (1dz) sweet potato praline (1\2dz) pineapple cream (1/2dz) for Thanksgiving. Out of all the years I been supporting Lita's I have never been so DISAPPOINTED. Nothing was homemade it was all box made. The pineapple cream was simply a box vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting and a drop of pineapple in the center. My mom was so disappointed being that she came from out of state to enjoy the famous Litas deserts that have always been so good to her. The sweet potato praline tasted like a carrot / spice box cake with cream cheese frosting it was not what was expected. The Red Velvet was so unpleasant because it was a box cake and not homemade. I feel like if your going to charge for homemade pricing then give us homemade products. I have never ever experienced a box cake experience from Litas everything has always been homemade. So please in the future let us know that it won't be homemade and that it's box made so we the customers can decide if that's what we want. Me personally I love the homemade so never do...

Kinda wish I never discovered this bakery... i've been here 4 times in the past week despite embarking on a new fitness journey. 🤭

The location is not ideal since it is located in a very busy plaza, but there seems to be adequate parking on all days I've been. I had the pleasure of meeting Malik, who was super friendly and informative. The cupcakes in the display were extremely beautiful, tasted even better. These are not your average cupcakes; they are much bigger than the store bought cupcakes and pack a BUNCH of flavor. Needless to say.... i will be returning until I taste all of the flavors offered.

side note: i've had the banana pudding cupcake and cake slice, blue velvet, red velvet (like 5 cupcakes), cookies and cream, strawberry crunch, strawberry with the strawberry frosting, red velvet cheesecake, key lime, and sweet potato. My house voted on Banana Pudding...
