Response: Disparage me all you want. Your team was dishonest. Offering to make it right with a refund and return, then speaking to me like I was a vagrant. I was patient and understanding waiting for resolution. I was told it would be taken care of, then referred back to whatnot where I was told it was past the point they could help me (because your employees weren’t timely/educated on the whatnot policies). I wasn’t asking for anything other than a return of my purchase and you providing a package to send the incorrect card back to you. Train your people on policies and communication. This is one of the most important things you should focus on in business. Best of luck.
cardcollector2 6/12/24, 9:55 AM Hi there- Sorry Whatnot was unable to resolve this. Please provide us your PayPal and we would be happy to refund you the $28. Have a great week. -CC2 Team.
6/13/24, 8:31 PM I don't use PayPal. I have Venmo.
Thanks 6/14/24, 9:25 AM Unfortunately we do not have a business Venmo.
6/14/24, 11:54 PM A check mailed is fine. I'm confident Ryan can figure out $28 plus tax/shipping. I've purchased plenty from his business. This really shouldn't be as difficult as it's been. Please let me know.
cardcollector2 Hey Mike - we've received information about this & wanted to let you know what we found. If you go back and watch the live, you purchased pack 67, which is in fact a Kobe Bufkin card, not Trevor Lawrence.
6/18/24, 6:01 PM Look guys. I understand what you put on your shipping ledger and I see that you put I purchased 66 early in the store. I purchased it because it's my favorite number. Unfortunately, Eric doesn't say who got the number when he ripped it. I went back and looked at 66 being opened. It's sad. I wanted to support your ship because I'm from Ohio and I bought a lot of stuff. But you have officially lost me.
You could have had your card back and refunded a minimal amount ($28ish). I would have continued purchasing and promoting you. Check my purchase history if you have the technology. Pretty sure he'd rather have me purchasing from a shop in my home state vs elsewhere. Please communicate this to your team. I will be.
cardcollector2 You continue to beat a dead horse. Ask whatnot, check your own purchases, do whatever. Instead you continue to whine & blame us, pretending we made you purchase the wrong pack, we photoshopped the wrong purchase, etc. Please contact whatnot for anything further regarding these packs. Thanks
6/22/24, 4:26 PM I bought 66 and 99. If 66 wasn't available, I would have only bought 99. Your channel and shop will be fine without my purchases and referrals to others. You continue to beat a dead horse. Ask whatnot, check your own purchases, do whatever. Instead you continue to whine & blame us, pretending we made you purchase the wrong pack, we photoshopped the wrong purchase,
6/22/24, 7:07 PM I am doing so by not purchasing from you and by referring collectors I know to other shops. I'm done asking you. I'm a long time retail management professional and the correct resolution here was to refund my money and send an envelope for me to mail back the card from bag 67. I'll just end it there. You could have had your card back and refunded a minimal amount ($28ish). I would have continued nurchasino and oromotino
6/24/24, 1:09 PM You're ridiculous & we're ok to go our separate ways. You're asking us to refund you and do all this nonsense for an error you made. Did you call whatnot or ask whatnot to verify your purchase? Of course not, you know why? Because you bought the wrong pack. Instead you want to continue to play the victim, blame us and tell us how you'll refer others elsewhere. For what? Again, a mistake you made then blamed us for. We don't owe you any refund, any card back, etc. We did exactly what we were supposed to do & provided the service provided. There's nothing else to talk about anymore. You're wrong & want to blame us. Best of luck on your...
Read moreUpdate: Given their response, I visited them again, and I do not think anything was improved. I did not see interesting cards in the showcase(mostly locals, like a Donovan Mitchell insert for $30), and sealed products had unreasonable prices (like $15 for a single pack of prismatic evolutions). In my view, the strengths of a local card store should be offering better prices than online and giving customers the freedom to choose their own boxes. Unfortunately, this store does neither. Hopefully they genuinely consider improving,. Being a well-known 'hype shop' is not an excuse for overlooking what really matters to local customers.
Store was remodeled with a great design so decided to stop by. Environment - The store is clean and well-organized and I really like it. Many showcases inside grouped by sports/Pokemon. There's a big Pokemon showcase, which looks cool.
Singles Selection - Since I am a follower of Ryan's Youtube Channel and their social medias, I always found them buying cards and selling online. However, when I go to the store, I do not find many interesting cards in the showcases, mostly local players. I understand that local players cards are good sales here, but maybe more options in the future? For now when I look at those showcases I feel I am standing at Midwest cards but with worse displayed singles.
Prices - Sealed hobby boxes are priced fairly. Singles and packs are relatively expensive comparing to other places. They do not negotiate singles price at least from what I've seen, which is completely different from my experience with them at card shows. So if you want to buy singles from them, I do recommend going to their booth at cards shows, but not at the store.
Customer Service - Staff there are fine. They greeted me and asked if I need anything. However, when I asked the staff that I am interested buying a hobby box and want to pick one by myself, they refused and only want to sell the one they handed to me. This is weird and I have never had this kind of situation in other stores.
Events - I like the trade night host by the store, and which they can host more in the future.
Location - Limited parking spots behind the store. Usually hard to find parking spot when the store is busy or hosting events.
Overall I rate this store with 2 stars. I like the store environment and the events they host, but I really hope they can improve other parts I mentioned in this review. I enjoy talking and trading with them at card shows, but the store itself is not as good as expected. I do not plan to revisit for now but look forward to a better...
Read moreJust finally got to go to the sports card shop in Grove City that I have been excited to check out for weeks but I've been so busy with work I haven't really had the opportunity. So I walked in there today at approximately 4:00 in the evening. There was a gentleman sitting behind the counter at a computer speaking with a couple customers who were apparently trying to sell part of their sports car collection. So after about 15 minutes I grabbed a box of slabs off of the shelf and picked out 10 maybe 8:00 that I would wanted to buy. And I was serious about buying I took $4,000 out of my pocket and set it on the table in front of me while I was going through slabs and made a parent that I was there to buy. Still, after close to what seemed like 45 minutes or so, never got greeted nobody said hello nobody asked me if I needed help nobody really acknowledged that I even existed. The last straw for me was when an employee walked in the door, right past me and asked what he should do and the guy on the computer told him to check with the people in the basement if they needed help, you know, not like there was a guy with thousands of dollars and a stack of graded cards to purchase patiently waiting for quite awhile. So I kindly placed all of the slabs back in the box and back on the shelf, my money back in my pocket, and I left. The place is put together really nice, it's clean, it's organized, the selection looks pretty dope. I guess where they need to work on their structure is with their customer service because they definitely lost a big deal today and I spend at least $2,000 a month on my collectibles with no local...
