Blu-Willy’s — Restaurant in Jackson Township

Great tasting burger, horrible service. Walked in with a party of 3. Was greeted with a less than enthusiastic greeting and told there was a wait for 30 mins. We said that was fine. We waited for about 5 minutes before a table was ready. We were taken to our table, that was oddly facing the window and made it nearly impossible to watch the games in the TV directly above our heads. We each ordered pop, a burger and I ordered pickle fries. Pickle fries came out fast and were great. The soda was nearly undrinkable and the ice was super cloudy. Clearly do not use filtered water for their ice maker. We sat waiting on our food for an hour after ordering. Waitress came to get refills once before we even got food - took our cups to get the refills and brought the same cups back instead of using fresh cups. Nasty. Our food finally came out 45 mins later. Burger was piping hot & was yummy! Fries that came with it were cold, soggy & greasy. Server never came back for refills or to ask us if we needed anything. We finished eating and waited another 15 mins for her to come ask if we were ready for the check. She brought the check and never came back to collect our payments. I had to flag her down 10 mins later. She came back with our card, never thanked us for coming in. Never apologized for how long everything took, never even gave us a parting greeting. Just left the card and receipt and walked away. Not even a goodbye. This was by far the most disappointing dining experience I've had in many years. It was as if our presence was an inconvenience to the staff. It was just 3 of us, quiet customers. The dining room was half empty when we ordered. We only ordered burgers and fries. There was no reason for that to not have been a 12 minute ticket time. 45 mins!? I've heard so many good things about this place. And our experience was the complete opposite. I’m leaving this review in hope that management sees it and starts to take care of the servers. We have come to Blue Willys multiple times, typically once a week. We’ve never had an experience like we did tonight. The kitchen staff is so RUDE to their servers. We heard them screaming at the servers. One girl was so terrified when she made a mistake, we heard her say “I am seriously freaking out” Then we had sat there for an hour waiting on our food, our server asked about it and the guy in the kitchen was a jerk to her and told her it was in line with the rest of them. We watched table after table get their food. We finally had to draw the line and leave (after sitting there for an hour with a toddler). The waiter told the kitchen (our table was right by the kitchen so we saw and heard everything) and he said he didn’t care. The poor waitress was so frustrated and apologized a million times. They also still made us pay for our appetizer,that truly was not like it usually is, which we were fine paying for but you’d think the least they could do is cover that because of how awful the experience had been. I’m not from the Grove city area but I happened to have somewhere to be close by so we saw Blu-Willy’s and decided to try dinner there! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Erin, she had a friendly attitude and told me and my party about the special of 6 dollars for burgers on Tuesdays! She said we could sit wherever we like and told us there was a patio outside with a bar, we chose the patio. Sat at the bar and was served by Rafaela, she was very upbeat positive and friendly. Took our order got us drinks and made it look easy while having multiple parties to take care of. Food came very quickly like 10 minutes for 3 meals and sides! I asked Rafaela how long she had been working there and she said it had not been that long. But her demeanor and work ethic shows she’s accustomed to fast paste service industry jobs and can do it well. I was super impressed with her and Erin! As I was leaving they all wished me a good day the whole staff that was there said goodbye. Super cool atmosphere! Awesome Bar/Restaurant 20 minutes from Columbus. 5 out of 5 stars!
