Since we have been shopping here, the store has really gone down hill. About 2017 they fixed the pot holes in the lot. They had been there for some time before getting fixed. Carts are very hit or miss if you will get a cart that goes straight, but just assume you will not get a good one.
I'm not sure who they buy produce from, but it's really gone down hill. For the most part you can expect it to last about 2 days. Much of it will be rotten in the case. Fruit flies everywhere in the warm months, and rotten in the cold. Often onions have the roots growing in the case. I don't know if they order too much at a time, or if they don't order often enough.
During the day in the isles the stock people can be known to take up the entire lane with boxes on the ground next to their lifts, and that's if they are even off to the side. They may even ask the customers to move while they put something on the shelf. I don't me one can, but the whole inventory.
Today I waited about 3-5 minutes at the deli counter. Nobody came to help. Saw employees see me and walk away. I went and got some other things after two customers came and went, one stayed. I came back about 5-8 minutes later to see that guy just getting helped. I did stop and get what I wanted. I also noticed that it was one of the employees that looked at me and went away before.
The checkouts are all almost closed. With about 20 or so, I have never seen more than 2 open. I don't mean at 2am, I mean during prime hours. They have 12 self scans, and really should have more. I don't know why you have 20 lanes with only two open. Just get rid of them.
I also find it dumb a store has two doors, but closed one at certain hours, and all the self checkout lanes on the other end are all that's open. Just get rid of the second door. Go to one door that's what the competition is all doing.
We don't shop here as often anymore. We like the idea of more than just food. It has just become hard to enjoy the food they do have. We like the idea of getting other things we may need like wood chips for the smoker, games for the family, greeting cards for events, shoe laces, light bulbs, camping supplies, holiday supplies, and so on. We just go to a different store for food now, and if we need to...
Read moreI strongly advise against using Meijer's online ordering service due to concerning discrepancies in pricing and a lack of transparency. My recent experience exemplifies the issues: I placed an order totaling $114. One $2.99 item was out of stock, while all other items were fulfilled. None were weight-based products. Inexplicably, my final total increased by $20 despite the unfulfilled item.
This is not an isolated incident. I've consistently noticed inflated totals on my online orders, even when items are out of stock. The most troubling aspect is the lack of visibility into the pre-order total details, making it impossible for customers to verify the accuracy of charges.
When seeking clarification, customer service representatives were unable to provide satisfactory explanations for these discrepancies. This lack of accountability is deeply concerning. The persistent pricing inconsistencies and the inability to access detailed breakdowns of charges raise serious questions about the integrity of Meijer's online ordering system. Until these issues are addressed and full transparency is provided, I cannot in good conscience recommend this service to other consumers.
I urge Meijer to rectify these problems promptly and implement a more transparent, customer-friendly online ordering process. Until then, customers may wish to consider alternative options for their...
Read moreWorst customer service I have ever experienced. My friend, sister and I had walked into this store wearing saint Patrick day hays we had bought from Walmart. We go to self check out and buy all of our items and as we are leaving one of the ladies working self checkout says “want us to scan those hats for you”. I continued to tell her they were actually from Walmart and if she scanned them they wouldn’t show up as they were from a completely different store. The other lady next to her says they will ring up and I was like okay you can try it then. She notices 2/3 hats don’t have tags on them and says we ripped the tags off in the store and questioned why one still had a tag. My sister shows her the tag which has Walmart on it and the lady just says ok in a rude way. We leave and there is a cop outside and he circles my car. It was ridiculous that they would accuse us of trying to steal when they watched us walk in with the hats on. Neither employee apologized for accusing us and interrogating us for 5 minutes. Maybe if they knew their stock they would know the 2 hats they sell for st Patrick’s day look nothing like the hats we had purchased from Walmart. I will not be going back as this isn’t the first time this lady has been rude to me. I hope they checked the security footage and realized how dumb they looked in...
