River’s Distillery — Local services in Jackson

Really unique and awesome place. We watched a few of the moonshiners shows in the past, outside of those shows we were clueless! Rivers Distillery had some awesome and authentic decor really setting the scene. We did a tour and the guide was amazing, very detailed and the best part was you really got to get close to the machines and actually see how they worked. By the time we completed the tour we had a whole new level of education and appreciation of moonshine, we knew about the different types And the whole process they us. We were mesmerized by the size of the still that they use to produce the alcohol, it was massive and really just unique. After the tour we tested the varieties they had available, they were all very good but we prefered the aged Peach Brandy. We highly recommend stoping by and checking it out its always nice to learn...

This is not your typical distillery tour.......it's awesome! This is a very small distillery and we were met by the owner/distiller Dan Rivers who gave us a very personal and detailed tour of every aspect of his place. His knowledge and passion for what he's doing was shared through great descriptions, stories, and frequent detours. This was not a canned tour with specific talking points and a script like we have seen at other distilleries.

The aged peach brandy is excellent. If you're a whiskey drinker, you will love this brandy! Even though we've been on the tour, we will return when in the area just to get more brandy as we didn't get enough on...

Dropped in on my way through Monticello to pick up a bottle for my friend. We've been exchanging local or unusual finds for years. I expected to pop in, get a local, and get back on the road. I got much more.

The proprietor took the time to explain all of their several offerings and encouraged me to taste them (yeah ... twist my arm). I'm not a brandy guy, but their process provides a clean, clear tasting product that impresses. Even the Moonshine Corn liquor was extremely smooth and flavorful.
