If Dairy Queen had saints, there is an employee that could quite possibly be labeled as the patron saint of service and soft serve. That particular employees name is Aaron. What he demonstrates behind that counter is nothing short of “shokunin kishitsu,” the craftsman’s spirit perfected in the sacred art of Blizzards and cones. Every swirl of ice cream, every perfectly mixed Blizzard, every kind word to a customer carries the weight of years of discipline and pride in his craft. Local legend whispers that before arriving in Jackson, Aaron journeyed to the mythical mountains of the Cascades, where he scaled peaks shrouded in mist and silence. There, high above the clouds, he sought wisdom from the ancient spirits of cold and cream. For forty nights he practiced, learning the sacred balance of sweetness and swirl, until even the winds themselves bowed to his mastery. When he descended, he carried with him not only the technique of the Blizzard but the spirit of perfection that lives in every treat he serves today. Walking into this Dairy Queen feels less like a fast-food stop and more like stepping into a temple where Aaron quietly, humbly performs miracles one order at a time. I’ve seen royalty receive less care and precision than what he delivers to each customer who walks through these doors. Truly, it is written: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Blizzard mixed by Aaron.” To call him an employee would be a disservice. He is an artisan, a master, a legend walking among us in Jackson, GA. May his example be studied, his dedication remembered, and his Blizzards enjoyed for...
Read moreUpdate: My review was 2 weeks ago. Thought we'd give yall another chance today. Sadly, this location has failed again. We don't live far away. Got home with some pretzel sticks and all were rock hard and not edible. The manager of this store seriously needs to hold a mandatory meeting with all employees and get everyone on the same page. A few people ahead of us in the drive-thru had to get out of their cars and go in and get their orders fixed. This location is horrible. We won't be back. Not even for desserts.
When we first came to this place about a year ago, this place used to be great. Desserts are still on cue, but whomever is in charge of ordering supplies (like tomatoes), is slacking. Also, whomever is in charge of cooking the burgers is either overwhelmed with tasks, has the timer set too long if that's how yall do it or if no timer, cook is distracted with something else. My burger has been over cooked the last few times we've been. True, you don't want your burger undercooked for health reasons, but I shouldn't have to make a special request asking please don't forget about it and over cook it. Got a burnt double cheeseburger (both patties were almost hockey pucks) and there were 3 slices of cheese. I can get over yall are out of tomatoes which whomever orders supplies should know when you're getting low to order more, but yall forgot the onions. I forced myself to eat half and I couldn't eat anymore. All I taste is burnt meat. Worst burger ever. Will only get...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. This would have to be the worst experience I've ever had from a fast food establishment in terms of food quality that I've ever had. Absolutely terrible, and I regret going here. So, normally I go to the DQ in Griffin, but was in Jackson and really wanted a Flamethrower burger, so I stopped by and ordered a triple combo and a Blizzard. I get my food, the Blizzard is half melted already, but I drive off because the line was long. I get down the road and start to eat it, and the burger was ice cold. It was the worst burger I've had in my entire life, and I paid $10 for the combo?! Never again. I mean, a $1 cheeseburger at McDonalds is better than this thing was. I ordered & paid for a triple, but just got a double, it was piled with big chunks of lettuce, and the top bun was flattened out to look like a sheet of paper. I mean, the only thing that could've made this thing worse would be finding something 'foreign' in it. I mean, it was just awful. I wish I could've taken a picture of it, but I was driving, so that didn't happen. I could only make it halfway through it before I just couldn't make myself eat anymore. Well, I tried to wash it down with the soda, and it was flat, and lukewarm. Fries were also cold and stale. I honestly will never go back. This was a...
