READ IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY!!!!
I am not a person to write reviews, but LORD does this salon deserve it. I am a client who books 6 months out, every 6 weeks, without fail (Every salons dream). Yet when i switched to Blondish, i was quoted one price, upon completing my first appointment they charged me almost $100 MORE!!! When asked “why” they said that since the time that i booked they have “increased prices” also they stated that they charged me for extra color (i did not ask for extra as i already pay for a “FULL”. They discounted some due to not communicating increases and extra charges before hand but STILL made me pay most. I still tipped 20% just to keep in their good graces.
I wasnt very happy with the results but i figured i would give Erika, the owner, one more chance since she had only worked with my hair once. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Upon my 2nd appointment (6 weeks later as recommended) with Erika, I asked that they keep me at my quoted price and not to add anything without my consent, or even offer me anything that is more $$ as I am not interested and am uncomfortable being solicited during my entire appointment. Erika proceeded to ask me the entire appointment if I wanted additional work added (not mentioning that it would cost extra $$ even once!!) further soliciting me when I specifically asked not to be solicited for any uncharges.
The work was done VERY blotchy my 2nd time. There were literal blotches of brown, I looked like a cheetah and luckily for me i was leaving the country that next week and the salon had no availability to fix my cheetah head before my trip. I swallowed my pride and wore a hat the majority of my trip… a hat ladies… a HAT!!!!!!! It was so embarrassing and such a blow to my confidence while out of the country.
After this I kindly asked to switch all my future appointments to Anniston (she was recommended by a friend) and Blondish let me know that the switch would cost me $35 because they believe Anniston may use “more color”. I am paying for a FULL not a partial, not a half, not a quarter, a FULL. A full head of coloring. Which is exactly what I got every time I came. They stated that they do this when people go past their 6 weeks mark, I reminded them that i come every 6 weeks on the dot, they said it didn't matter and that the $35 fee would stay.
So in conclusion, they fail to communicate price increases until its time to check out, if you get an absolute hack job done at their salon and ask to switch hair techs, you will be charged a fee. If you make an appointment and get terrible quality, you are either forced to pay to switch stylists or can take your sweet ass elsewhere and don’t forget not to let the door hit you on the way out!!!
Erika did offer to fix the cheetah color job, which is appreciated, but i definitely will never step foot in this salon again. I prefer a salon who cares about their work and the experience of their clients more than they do trying to rake their clients over the coals.
$200 for a “full” + $35 for additional color (even though you got a full) and thats without any hair cut, any blow drying or styling. For anyone wondering regarding prices. If you get everything “all in” it’s...
Read moreBreaks my heart to have to write this but I feel it needs to be shared as a warning for others. Up until very recently I had been a client for almost three years. I’m a full time student and work full time so scheduling gets more and more difficult. I had to make two partial appointments back to back because there just wasn’t enough time. With as dark as my natural is I scheduled a full. I booked for a Tuesday evening after work. Once it was done I realized I would rather do a full the next time to help the back half as it was still pretty dark after the full. I booked for the same time and day two months out. A few weeks later I realized that I had been scheduled for a half hour prior to the appt time I made. I message the salon and they said they would fix it. The next day I get a text saying I can’t do a full at that time. After some back and forth I was told that the first full which had been at 5:45 on a Tuesday had been a mistake and shouldn’t have been booked and that in order to make the appointment work I would have to either keep the 5:15 appointment, go on a cancellation list, or take her next available appointment which was over a month after my appointment had been set for. I felt completely disrespected by both the salon and Anniston. No one had ever expressed an issue with a full at 5:45 and working downtown till 5 there is no way for me to get to a 5:15 appointment. I was really disappointed that Anniston chose not to express the issue with the booking and disappointed by the fact that the salon doesn’t seem to understand how disrespectful the options told were. I wasn’t overly satisfied with the owners response to my concerns. Needless to say this is the end of my experience...
