D&LP Subs — Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach

5/26/25 9:15pm We are locals and figured we'd give this place a try. I was craving some cheese ravioli and this was one of the only places offering it because most of the other Italian places were closed. Service was sub par. For some reason the Fanatic doesn't say what kind of cheese comes on it like all the other cheesesteaks do. So we asked if it came with cheese and the person who took our order (gentleman with hair in a ponytail) says "It comes with American cheese. I mean it's called a cheese steak so of course it comes with cheese." OK but it's not listed with cheese like all the other ones are. He just wasn't very friendly. Maybe he was tired or needed a break. As for the food, my fiancé did enjoy the cheese steak. He said there was plenty of meat on it and said it was good. I got the cheese ravioli meal of course The side salad was huge with a ton of toppings. The cucumbers were slimey but I just tossed them out. Besides that it's a great side salad! I got 3 garlic knots instead of 2 which was nice. The cheese ravioli is just ok. In my MANY years of ordering this dish, this was the first place to not melt cheese over the top. It was marinara sauce and the raviolis. No melty cheese on top. That was lame and a bit disappointing. I'd like to try the pizza but i wouldn't order a pasta here again. D&LP is just becoming a joke. It’s been a while since we ordered here cos last time we ordered a to-go, they made us wait for almost an hour which it couldn’t have been an hour cos our order have been sitting on the counter, we were just not called. Mind you, we were sitting INSIDE the restaurant.

This time, we ordered a Flamin’ Flyer cos we’re into spicy food and we ordered it before, BUT it was waaaaay too spicy that we couldn’t eat the sub! We only end up eating few bites from it. I called them JUST to let them know and HOPING they will apologize that maybe they just accidentally put more peppers than usual. (I’m not asking for anything, even a refund or replacement cos we live far from the beach). Instead, the lady who answered the phone said “So, you’re just calling because you want to let us know? So, what do you want us to do about your sandwich?” in a very sarcastic and passive aggressive tone! I was just appalled by her attitude towards a customer! She should never be in customer service job! This place will lose their customers bcos of this.

Lazy and poor service. If I could give a 0 star I would. This local business wasted my time tonight and did little to make it right afterwards. I ordered the Large Pizza/20 Wing bundle-- (keep in mind they offer this bundle) but they forgot ALL the sauces for the Wings. The kicker is they called to confirm the sauces that we needed on the phone beforehand! So, I pick up my order not thinking anything was wrong, get ALL THE WAY HOME, to find, there are no sauces or celery or anything! NOTHING! Just a box of dry chicken wings—it was the worst. I ordered over $50+ of food, this is unacceptable, especially when I'm online ordering and coming to pick the order up myself. I HAD TO DRIVE BACK JUST TO GET THE SAUCES wasting an hour of my time with the back and forth, back and forth. I was hosting guests! That's why we ordered this bundle! A ‘sorry’ or ‘I’m sorry for the inconvenience’ isn’t enough in this situation. Make it right. Do better. Don’t treat your loyal guests this way!
