The worst county to get any assistance. I gave birth to my son 8/6/24, I emailed DSS on 8/9/24 with my sons working form so things could be updated to a family of 3 for my food stamps. I never got an email back and no one reached out.
I called 8/15/24, left a voicemail, no one called back
I called 8/23/24, left a voicemail, no one called back.
I called 9/20/24, left a voicemail, no one called back
Now without any communication I received my FNS recertification papers in the mail on 10/7/24 and I paid $64 at staples to fax over my papers on 10/10/24. Everything was sent through.
I called 10/15/24 (due date for papers) to make sure things were good, of course no one talks to me so I have to leave a voicemail yet again. I never heard back.
I called yesterday, 10/23/24, left my second voicemail for a Bryan and left a second voicemail on the general dss line. And of course when I call back and ask to actually speak with someone, I’m met with ladies who have attitudes and transfer me to the same voicemail. I also sent another email with proof of all my communication with them but I most likely won’t hear back.
I’m going on 2 years of this. When I first moved to Onslow county I left 2 voicemails with Elizabeth (not sure if she’s still there) and never heard anything from anyone and then months later I got paperwork in the mail for my FNS.
My son will be 12 weeks old in 5 days. In these 12 weeks only Medicaid has communicated with me and got my son on his plan.
We are expected to turn our information in on time or they take our assistance away but they are never in their offices to return calls or emails when we need them. These people don’t care about helping us, they are just worried about their paychecks and it’s sad. Now Onslow DSS is the reason I’m trying to save money to move back home because at least CARTERET COUNTY DSS answers and cares about...
Read moreEdit: DSS and CPS has been getting 3rd party reports about my daughters mother for 3 years. Drug use, neglect and more. DSS does their best to paint the picture as a "co-parenting problem" to protect the mother. On a new report they have done their assessment and find that it is ok for my daughter and her brother to share rooms after the age of 5 (goes against DSS policy). DSS stated there are not statements or any concern, yet I have video of the statement. They are not intelligent enough to realize people have surveillance. Also in court DSS stated (3) times of major concern for the children being in the house. Then DSS says the mother that the report neglects children, can supervise a drug addict around the children. This is public records and easily proven as all true. DSS is a about to be humiliated in court. They are also covering up statements made by children and also altering some of those reports. They are about to be humiliated in court
Bottom line, this is a corrupt DSS facility. Document everything and keep a paper trail. They are as unprofessional as a government facility could get. This place needs to be shut down. The CPS project manager Kim bailey takes part in this and aids the workers in their...
Read moreBe careful with Heather Huckaby; she is short-tempered and will fabricate lies. She works with intimidation, lies, and rushes families during her house calls with no regards to the families concerns or stresses. We have been treated with no dignity or respect at all. She has made it a point to let us know that her interest is not our family, rather her job, which she feels there are many other house calls she needs to attend to and not focused on finding a solution or helping families. It is sickening to know that DSS have personnel like her working for them. I attempted to contact her supervisor and left multiple messages to which to this point (days later) there is no response. We are going through hard times trying to deal with this person who has no regards for the well being of our family. Additionally, the answer to our concerns is non-existent. On top of it all, she is using illegal tactics to gather information outside the limits of the law. We plan on writing a formal complaint above her supervisor in hopes of preventing this catastrophe and add-on stresses to...
