This store is convenient and has almost every little thing you might need BUT, I had a recent most unfortunate experience that I will not soon forget, I stopped in with my younger son to get some water and other items, Two cashiers were at the register and upon us joining the queue to ring up our items, one cashier , a short ‘blonde’ female, asked us to go to the other cashier because she will close her register. We brought our items to the next register which was next to hers, literally on the other side of her. As we lay our items down, the cashier that just told us to use the other register, called out, “ may I have the next customer?” I was astonished. I immediately realized that she did not care that she could and did offend a patron, a Black patron. Acaver, the other cashier, was most efficient in pretending to not notice and quickly rang my items up while she feigned a polite smile. This will be our last time at Jay Peak. That degree of blatant discrimination that I felt was palpable. This little insignificant young ‘blonde’ cashier needs training on service and just common decency. The world is becoming more diverse in every which way, Jay Peak will not have the pleasure of experiencing my awesomeness ever again. I will be sure to share my experiences at Provisions with my fellow skiers. Never experienced this at Smugs, Mount Snow, Killington, Okemo or Bellayre. Shame on Jay Peak! Training, training, training!...
Read moreStore is fine and as expected in a place with a captive audience, the prices are high. Unfortunately, they’re selling some offensively overpriced baked goods from “Totally Baked- a groovy little bread company”. $9.99 for a baguette is a bit much and leaves me feeling taken advantage of. Then when it’s labeled as Rosemary but is half the size of a standard baguette, half-baked, flavorless and a dense log of dough more akin to the flavor of the salt dough maps my kids make in school than the baguette I buy at Walmart typically, I feel used and violated.
So I suggest that if provisions wishes to continue to sell food that is priced and advertised as high-end they truly provide high-end food or drop the price to represent what it really is or more specifically, what it really isn’t.
Oh, and the only love I can perceive in this baked good is the love they have of taking my money while giving me an...
Read moreThe store has many items including foods and souvenirs. The shirts and souvenirs are all priced with a price tag or sign however the food and medications have NO PRICE TAG! I believe that Vermont law requires a visible price tag or sign for foods, meats, drugs. Seeing that the store has no prices does not give me confidence in shopping here unfortunately. How often do the prices change that there is no sign? Does it change based on the day of the week? The person buying? Who knows... Because it is not publicly shown until you go to the register. Not cool. Actually...
