Read moreThis was my childhood grocery store. I came here with my grandparents often in the late 80âs to the 90âs and also with my parents until I left the neighborhood back in 2005. Now as a parent, I like to being my kids to my old neighborhood to eat and do some groceries at a local market that carries an abundance of P.R products no other stores in Illinois has. Products I have only seen in PuertoRico. I also bring my mom here. The prices have gone up. Yeah yeah.. I get it.. inflation... but cmon! Itâs not a Marianoâs or Trader Joeâs. The greens look old. And letâs not forget the last bag of Quenepas I bought.. the outer shell was black on every 4-5th Quinep. But I thought the inside would be better so I bought & letâs just say next time Iâll follow my gut. The cashiers also lack customer service skills. This place has so many memories for me. Memories dating back to when I was in pre-school, & coming here was a bit of nostalgia that I can share with my children & now I donât even want to go back. I drive more than an hour in hopes to save money 4 good quality P.R products & for that moment to reminisce. Hope they get better. Cause Iâd hate to stop coming here. I heard thereâs another P.R fruteria nearby, perhaps someone can tell...
Read moreThis place just lost a star from me, and that's only because it has to have a star. This store is successful based on the selective items that are not easily accessible at other stores. I have an issue with how they handle discrepancies on their receipt and how they forget to bag an item from time to time. As in they bag all the items but one. There's always the infamous apology. You can't apologize over and over again for the same thing without frustrating the customer. Other stores try to make it right with the customer. If there's a discrepancy between the sale item and what's on the receipt then it's free. If that were the case here the store would run out of business. As I have mentioned in another review, I don't know if there's a lack of staff that can't keep up with the sale items or if they don't care that they're over charging the customer? Oh and I can't forget about the happy cashiers, they look like they hate the place but I can't blame them. I just hope they can move on to better things sooner rather than later. Overall, this place is very disappointing. I'm sure it's going to take their followers sometime before they realize there is...
