As a bilingual parent raising a bicultural child, I cannot express how thrilled I am to have discovered this gem in our community! Luna y Cielo is exactly what we needed in our community, and it's a blessing for families like ours who want to preserve and celebrate our Latin American heritage.
When I take my daughter to Luna y Cielo it doesnât feel like weâre just going to a play space, it feels like weâre visiting family. From the moment we walked in, I could feel the warmth and connection to our culture. The vibrant colors, the music, and even the toys and books reflect the richness of our traditions. My 3-year-old absolutely loves it here, and I love that sheâs surrounded by her roots while playing and learning. The play area is not only safe and clean but also thoughtfully designed to engage children with elements of Latin American culture.
What sets this place apart is their dedication to language and cultural preservation. They offer Spanish classes for little ones, host birthday parties, and have multiple special events where they incorporate traditional Latin American games, music, and decorations, making it a truly memorable experience for both kids and parents. Luna y Cielo offers an incredible opportunity for children to learn or strengthen their language skills in fun and interactive ways. Weâve been going for a little over a year and my daughterâs speech has improved so much.
Luna y Cielo is more than just a play space â itâs a community hub that brings us together and gives our children a sense of pride in their heritage. The owner is friendly, caring, and passionate on making the space feel welcoming to everyone. I highly recommend it to any parents looking to create meaningful cultural connections for their children in a fun, safe, and welcoming...
Read moreMy toddler and I both love Luna y Cielo! The owner, Vanessa, is so friendly, and you can see all thought & detail that went into making this space perfect for kiddos. Itâs very clean and well maintained, and itâs never been too busy, loud or overstimulating for my 2 year old. Thereâs a separate space for babies as well, so definitely safe for even the youngest siblings. The felt play food toys are great - even pretend conchas and donuts - and my toddler loves all the play cooking utensils and construction tools. Thereâs even a little house (complete with a safe slide!) So many opportunities for independent play, and a little reading corner with bilingual books Thereâs a long bench (complete with pillows) along the wall for grownups, and tables & chairs with visibility into the front part the play area for snack breaks. A major plus is they allow outside food so you can sit and have a snack - but they also sell kid friendly snacks and coffee for adults, so win-win for everyone. They also host events - they had an educational event about cicadas, and have âmessyâ play on Tuesdays with different sensory bins - so keep an eye out for extra fun! 5 stars from us both- my toddler is starting to ask for âCieloâ by name so weâll be making more frequent visits now! Also, easy street parking - thereâs always been multiple spots available so I never worry it (which is so important when youâre taking an unpredictable toddler...
Read moreThe play space is great and the price is right. I love the setup and the amount of imaginative pretend play available, and that the spaces are setup like a city block of store fronts to visit. My kid (2yr old) and I also appreciated the decent sized library of diverse and developmentally appropriate books available to read. Very cool. She had much more fun here than she does at other play spaces in the neighborhood.
This would be a five star spot if the cafe portion got a bit of attention from the owners to refine the offerings. Only coffee available is a $3 cup of drip made in a $30 Black and Decker coffee maker you can buy at Home Depot. The snacks are limited to one flavor of squeeze pouch, a bag of chips and paleta payaso.
A cappuccino machine would go a long way here. Maybe partner with a local panaderia to get some eats for the adults and stock healthy snacks for the kids, like fruit/granola bars, Greek yogurts, etc. This would easily convert my $16 visit to a $25-30 visit and make me a regular.
Regardless, Iâll be back, but will make sure to have coffee before I...
