Damn Fine Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

Wish I could give this place less stars but at least they knew how to make wifi work. Came in randomly when we were in the area one day because of the high rating and went to order. We are two very shy people and have both worked in the resturant/ wait staff industry so we understand bad days. But this was beyond that. The woman behind the counter seemed more interested in her book than speaking to us (even when we mhm slightly she took our order like she was doing us a favor). One black coffee, one chai tea. Worst choice ever. The black coffee was burned and the tea was more sugar and sprinkled cinnamon than anything else. I know I'm spoiled when it comes to chai tea( hello mom & all of India) but this was truly one of the world cups I've ever tasted. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. There is only one type of drip coffee served (I think it must be a light to medium roast) and it is typically sour and acidic. The service is below average. The baristas don’t seem like they care or want to be there. The ambiance could be better but the the music is often too low so you can hear everyone’s conversations. For all of these reasons it is not a great place to work. And with acidic coffee that is on the pricey side, I typically avoid this coffee shop. It’s a shame since I live so close by. With that said, I hope things improve. Here’s a thought: maintain a standard full bodied coffee at a good price point so people can rely on a familiar cup of joe at a familiar spot; and, maintain some basic best practices for service. Wanted good coffee and since I saw the good reviews at this place that is near where I live, decided to give it a try. The place has outdoor seating and inside there is room for 4 people at a time, there was a line outside and since the weather was nice we waited. The menu is posted outside so you can be ready when you come in, also the menu is posted inside so you can recall easier. The service was fast and the payment is cashless, a tap away to pay and the Mocha and the chocolate donut were ready for me fast enough. As for the coffee, it is strong and good, the chocolate glazed donut was ok, I liked the glazed donut instead, it is on preference.
