I went in about 2 months ago and one of the butcher's made a perverted comment at me making me feel angry and and extremely uncomfortable. While another one was laughing about it. I told them I knew what they were talking about and they tried denying it a third butcher admitted that he heard what the other guy said and gave me his name. So I went to the front, I asked to speak to the manager and one of the cashiers tried telling me she wasn't there. Then she asked what I needed to speak to her for, I said I had a complaint, so she said "oh I think she's in the bathroom", so she went to the back to look for her. She came out a couple minutes later and said the manager would be with me shorlty. I waited over 10 minutes and still no manager. So I had to speak to another cashier and told her to go tell her manager that if she came out now I wasn't going to report her to their supervisor along with the butcher because this was a sexual harrasment issue. The other cashier went to tell her and only then did the manager come out. I was already upset and got even more upset at the fact that she took that long to address the issue. When I told her what had happened she told me the man would get fired but I am not sure he ever did. I will not return to that store ever again!! This was the worst experience I have ever had...
   Read moreThere are far more positive things I have to say than negative about Cermak on Armitage. First, they have great staff at the front registers and the meat department. I've never stood in line for more than five minutes. They are quick and reliable. Second, everything is stocked most of the time, and few things are ever out of stock. The items outside of produce are pricy but at times they have these items on sale. The produce and meat are regularly fresh and if I ever need a cut off a carcass, the butcher is more than welcome to help. Third, the bread is fresh cooked and it's great! However, the issue that bothers me the most is the ground beef packed into the refrigeration unit . . . What is it? What's it made out of? No matter how long I cook the ground beef it stays a bright red hue. I checked the FDA website and it says that high pH bull meat may be the result, but when I cooked the beef in water the water turned pink. Is this dye? I enjoy the convenience of the store, but I can't afford to buy my favorite item (ground beef) at this location anymore because I'm wary of...
   Read moreevery single time ive been in this store i have seen many sanitation violations that could make people sick. i have seen a leaky roof that was leaking right on to the fruit and vegetables, i have seen them try and put pork meat into a non refridgerated food bin to sell to customers, i saw that and immediately stopped it. unrefridgerated pork can kill people. they overstock the milk to where it is piled up on each other and because of that some of the milk gallons do not get refridgerated. this place also constantly has expired food. also they do not know how to bag. they throw raw meat in with ready to eat foods. 1 time i got home and my bread was covered with raw chicken blood and crap. i politely told them about that and after that to "get even" with me, they bagged every single one of my items seperate, i did not need 1 can of pop by itsef in a bag. these people do not know anything about sanitation or customer service and risk the health of everyone who enters this grocery store. do not shop here, it can...
