I went to cook brothers on 4/4/24 I purchased my furniture (couches, table and a TV stand) I paid over 1600 on my purchase including $99 for delivery when the delivery people came and looked (mind you I live on the second floor) they stated they can’t take up my furniture without them taking out two doors and moving some furniture on the 1st floor (which was two small light boxes) which I was charged $170 extra. I agreed because I had already taken the day off work and wanted my furniture, but I was confused on why the extra charge because I had already paid $99 for delivery. So they came and only took one door down and never moved any furniture. They said they weren’t able to take the second door down since the stated “it was old” they won’t able too. So they forced the furniture in and broke my door frame and when I stated can they be careful one of the mover stated “you should tell the landlord to fix your apartment instead of worrying about the frame 😳” which was uncalled for and unprofessional (mind you I’m paying an extra $170 after I was charged $99 to deliver the furniture) I called cook brothers to complain about the horrible experience I had and spoke to a very rude woman (in the furniture department) and explained my horrible situation and she stated there is nothing they can do, because they are a third party and try to brush it off and I told her there is nothing on the paperwork that states I will be charged more. She stated she will let the manger know and hung up the phone please be careful when purchasing furniture and READ THE FINE PRINT. I am a disabled senior who was told in the store by the clerk who wrote up my purchase (over $600, my second purchase this month!) that I could speak to the delivery men when they arrive & arrange to pay them for setting up my purchases & removing the boxes (a tall dresser, a coffee table and TV stand.)
When they delivered the furniture they do not want to do it. They finally agreed on a price and promised to return in the late afternoon or early evening to unbox, assemble the furniture, & take out the boxes. They said they would call first.
They did NOT CALL. They DID NOT SHOW UP.
Here I am stuck with all this boxed furniture. The smaller tables I might have been able to deal with, but a large, tall, dresser STILL IN THE BOX???
Luckily I was able to get someone to help me unpack & assemble the items but I am still stuck with the large boxes.
I walk with a cane. This is going to be interesting to get them out by myself.
I would recommend Cook Brothers ONLY if you don't need anything unpacked or assembled or don't need the boxes taken away because they cannot be trusted if you need help.

Read moreI want the owners to know Cook Brothers is the store I would go to EVERY Christmas season for gifts, for ALL the kids in the Family(20+), friends at work, and even my boss. No one ever felt like the gifts were second quality. As a family of 6, and a few kids that were ALWAYS at my house like they were mine as well, Cook Brothers made it easy to feed, and care for them ALL.
Hubby recently purchased my living room set and paid to have them delivered. This was birthday present from him and my sons. I was to receive a call Monday June 1st with a delivery date and time. I was so heartbroken to hear that a few inconsiderate individuals thought it was ok loot. They affectef so many. My husband is the only one working. I have heart ifailure and am not able to. He bought reclining couches for my health issues. I must ALWAYS keep my legs elevated. He paid them in full, and for the delivery. He was so hurt and felt so upset that I couldnt get my gift. But I want the owners to know this. First off your customers are with you. We will wait for you guys. We trust you. We know you support your employees and your customers. Have faith.
