Walmart Dept. Store — Local services in Jefferson Township

I love Walmart but this location was horrific! The cashier was inattentive, she was talking on the phone, had her airpods in both ears having her very own conversation while ringing up our items. I would not care if she was on the phone if she was paying attention to what she was scanning. But it's very rude to be on the phone at the end of the day while customers are trying to checkout. We had quite a few clearance items that she charged regular price and she had the audacity to get irritated when called out for her mistake. Rolling her eyes like we were inconveniencing her during her conversation. She still rung up another clearance item for the full price. We went to talk to a manager to get the incorrect scan item corrected. But he said the customer service was closed already. Told us to come back tomorrow (we live all the way in the south side so coming back the following day was a HUGE inconvenience for us and they don't cover the waste of gas) The manager was pretty unless and non-empathetic to trying to understand our frustration with their cashier being on her phone. Her lack of attention stressed us out and left such a bitter taste. I don't remember the cashiers name but she was working on 10/26/2023 around 10:30 PM. Once I find her name I will update the review. She looks super young and way into her phone. The staff in general should be attentive to customers not being paid to have PERSONAL PHONE CONVERSATIONS!!

To top it off we went back the following day to request them to refund the incorrect charge. Waited over an hour to be helped. They treated my mother like she was ignorant and said she was trying to STEAL!!??! When an actuality the brainless cashier was completely at fault. Walmart please do a better job at who you are hiring because this was completely disrespectful. The ignorance came from all the staff that treated us poorly. I don't even want to imagine the comment about my mom was racist.

I only order online for pickup! I HATE attempting to shop inside this location! The customers as well as most of the staff are rude and unprofessional! I have a better chance of getting what I need this way...
