I was super excited to head out to this store for the first time, as a vintage dealer and lover, but was left with a sour taste from rude staffing. I was shopping with my friends, and I head back to the clothes. I pick up quite a few items excited because they had a beautiful collections. Stocked full of items i’ve been looking for and having trouble finding anywhere else. Eventually I went to go try on, and the staff member, grabbed items out of my hands and started telling they were size small and said I would break the dress if I tried it on, told me how people keep breaking zippers, and that I don’t understand vintage sizes. She didn’t do this to any other customer, and for reference I’m about a size 8, I’m a smaller waist and larger chest n hips. Asked me my size, told me about people who broke dresses the week before, she seemed to have this opinion on all the clothes i was gonna try on, she wouldn’t stop talking to me, and only making it worse. I told her i only wear vintage and that i know how to try on clothes, and I didn’t plan to break the items i had grabbed. I was so upset and uncomfortable I wanted to walk out, but I really loved the pieces I grabbed and wanted to prove this women wrong. I tried on everything only 1 item didn’t fit over my breasts. And no, I didn’t try to zip it up or break the item. Although one of the dresses was already broken when i picked it up. The worker made her way back to me to continue to be either be surprised i fit and continued to bring up the past shoppers who broke items, and wouldn’t let it rest. eventually when checking out I said to find a better way to talk to your customers to the women in front of her boss. Her boss seemed confused and the women finally apologized. But not until I mentioned something in front of the boss. I would like to add the owner was very very nice to me, and didn’t have any rudeness from her, only her staff member. I fully understand concerns on items breaking, but singling me out as the “fat” one, and telling me i’m gonna break the dresses is the worst retail mentality I had ever seen. If it wasn’t for the nice owner and the good vintage I would have cursed that women out n never bought a thing. Just tell people to be careful with the garments and have a break it buy it ruling? Make a sign that says watch the zippers? Don’t take things out of people hands and imply that they are so unaware and large that they will break the items. I would also hate if that might happen to a person with body insecurities or an ED. Not to mention that if someone was actually plus sized who came in, how they would be treated. I’m appalled. And as much as I would come back due to the selection and how the owner was very sweet. I don’t plan on returning till the staff has better training or learn...
Read moreThis was my first time at Juju's and it was the most phenomenal experience. The owner, Juju, greeted me at the door and explained how the store was set up, and she gave me a tray to put my items in. The shop dog, Jitterbug, was the cutest little greeter, and the store is so organized and packed with treasures. You could spend an entire day looking through all the jewelry, pins, rings, purses, hats, sunglasses, and apparel pieces. Prices of everything were very fair, with most earrings in the $9-$20 range, many necklaces in the $20-$30 range and clothing was very appropriately priced as well. The staff all clearly care a lot about the business and were so friendly and enthusiastic. They accept card, but prefer cash if you have it :) they also buy jewelry as well, so it's amazing to know that I am giving a new home to the pieces that I purchased. This is such a hidden gem in the area, just outside downtown park ridge and near the Jefferson Park area. I cannot wait to come back, as the staff stated that they always have news things available! I am excited to wear my new pieces to some weddings I have coming up this summer. This is a MUST visit for anyone of all ages! My grandma enjoyed browsing the broaches and pins. There are also many, many earrings that are clip on, for those who don't have pierced ears!!! I wish I could give this cool place more than 5 stars. I guarantee a...

Looking for vintage jewelry with lots of red and hearts? There's a section for that. 70s color palette Bakelite? Section for that. Tiny drawers everywhere to browse pretty much any theme you can imagine (from cameos to owls and clowns). Not to mention the vintage clothes, robes and slips, purses, hats, hand mirrors. You'll step through Juju's looking glass and never want to leave. I could spend an entire day here and not see it all. Juju and her team are so kind and helpful. They'll make recommendations, show you how all kinds of clasps work, retrieve the piece hidden in the back of the stuffed display case that seems too precarious to reach for, and will wrap your purchases with care in bags as eclectic and fun as the store. You'll walk out feeling like you stumbled into a bejeweled Pandora's box and planning your next trip to Chicago's most ornate rabbit hole. Very reasonably...
