I entered the store about an hour ago and the lady behind the counter was helping to ladies. The employee looked up at me and said âno pets allowedâ. I politely said I understand but he is my service dog. The lady she was waiting on looked over at me and my service dog as I was trying to explain that itâs against the law to refuse a service animal with with her customer agreed with me before I finished. Thinking that the employee would realize her error I took another step inside. I was stopped again and she stated again âNO petsâ. I simply turned around and told her that she was breaking the law. As I stepped towards the door she rudely said âsorry but NOâ. Her customer came to the defense of my service animal in which I thanked her and said some people break in law on both sides and the ones that donât pay the price. I hope this lady looks up the law and educates herself so that others with real service animals are not discriminated against in the future. Too bad too because itâs a cute little shop that I would have loved to explore and purchase something. Iâve enclosed a photo so you can see heâs not a threat and doesnât shed. Not that it would matter if he was 100 pounds with hair flying off Service animals cannot be...
Read moreBeware! If I could rate this store less than 1 star I would, a minus 5 would be more accurate. Terrible customer service and no returns for any reason. I just bought several souvenir items at Whittles while on vacation with my family. The person (older, grumpy gentleman) at the cashier was very rude to me and my kids. He would not allow us to return a necklace that I had purchased less a few min after walking out the door. The necklace broke as I was trying it on my son on the sidewalk outside of the store. The rude sales clerk said he wouldnât allow a return because my kid broke it. His words were, âwonât broke when you left here and this ainât Walmart.â Apparently the quality of items for sale in this store are less than Walmart (minus the option to exchange something that defective and encounter professional, kind employees). Don't shop here itâs a waste of money. Would love to know who...
Read moreStore isn't dog friendly and the man was extremely rude about it. I have traveled the entire country with my small dog and this is the first touristy type store I've been to that he wasn't allowed to enter. The dog is very old and can't walk so I carry him in a bag. There's no issues with him having any accidents anywhere or causing any damage. The guy in the store was very rude. So much for that so called southern hospitality. There was no greeting and an apology that dogs aren't allowed. Instead he just yelled out "no dogs" when I entered. I told the guy the dog will stay in the bag and his response was that it doesn't matter, no dogs. I can appreciate the no pets policy but he should learn to be more polite when informing potential customers about it. So if you are a dog lover, don't bother patronizing this business. Spend your...
