PLEASE READ!!! This maybe lengthy. On 9/01, I purchased a 10 inch double chocolate cake and two candles to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday. We sang the birthday song about 9pm. We ATE the cake and upon my daughter getting a second piece she discovered a FINGERNAIL on the cake!!!!!! We were disgusted and saddened. My family LOVE nothing Bundt cake. We are not locals so we were happy to see we were close enough to travel to a location. On 9/02, I called the location to share our experience. I was told by an employee that the manager was on lunch. She took my information and told me I should receive a call when the manager return. I didn’t receive a call. On 9/03 I discovered an email that was sent on 9/02. This was an insult to me. I felt like we wasn’t validated. Although, I did receive an apology through email, it wasn’t personalized the email didn’t even address me by my name. If it was a misspelling of her name I would’ve accepted and email apology being that it was something this severe I don’t feel like that was an appropriate way to apologize. Honestly, I don’t even know how this matter will be better for me. Another cake? Absolutely not! This company lacks safety and health. In order for that to happen whoever prepared the cake bit their fingernail and spat it out!!!! What?!! Today is 9/07, I gave more than enough time for management to contact me and try to resolve this matter. After the email, I replied and still haven’t heard anything. Management obviously don’t care so I wanted to make customers...
Read moreToday, I ordered an 8-inch cake from the website. I chose the 8-inch size because my family usually orders 8-inch cakes, and I know how big they are from past orders. When my husband picked it up (he didn’t know what size I ordered), I immediately noticed that the cake was clearly a 6-inch one. I even measured it, and it was indeed 6 inches.
I called the store and asked why I received a 6-inch cake when I specifically ordered an 8-inch one. The manager told me that this is just how they label their cakes—what they call “8 inches” is actually 6 inches. I was confused and said, “If it’s 6 inches, why don’t you just call it 6 inches?” My concern wasn’t about the price but about the misleading description. The manager said I was the first customer to ever complain about this, which I found very surprising.
It’s a simple, straightforward issue: 8 inches means 8 inches, and 6 inches means 6 inches. There’s no ambiguity. The cake cost $45 after tax, which I feel is overpriced for such a small size. I don’t think I’ll ever order from this store again. Years ago, I ordered an 8-inch cake from them, and it was indeed 8 inches.
Am I wrong to expect a product to match its description? The manager even told me that if I wanted to know what I was ordering, I should come to their store to see the display cakes. This confused me even more. Isn’t the whole point of having size labels so that customers don’t need to go in person to see? The size should be exactly what it...
Read moreNo compassion, no customer service. I have bought many cakes for our office and for family birthdays and the staff has never been kind, generally pretty stiff. Yesterday I called while in route after work to try to pay for a cake I needed for work in the morning. And the young lady said unfortunately she could not accept payment, I told her my ETA was 6:59 and to please box up my Cake and I would pay when I arrived. At 7:01 I ran up to the door and it was locked. One of the four ladies barely looked at me and said we are closed, I told her I had called ahead and she pointed at the door and said we closed at 7...I looked at my phone and it was 7:02 with three other ladies were staying the counter. I said “shame on you” and went to Whole Foods in the same parking lot and bought a delicious Ref Velvet Cale for three dollars less and the young lady was certainly better trained customer service and just kinder. I went back to my car to leave and the NBC ladies were still talking at the course I ask to speak with the manager, Christina I believe and her mantra was sorry it says on the door we close at 7, that is our Policy! Unfortunately, you can keep your cakes. Thankfully there are so many great bakeries in our area!
What a revealing response from the Manager. They want me to send my comments to their “CARE” department so they don’t have to do any it cut and paste a response. This attitude is company wide....
