My fiance found my engagement ring at Helzberg and it is breathtakingly beautiful! I wouldn't ask for a different ring. After he purposed we started talking about details and he told me that he made sure to ask Helzberg if they had a matching wedding band for this ring. It is an infinity ring so it's hard to match. They told him "Of course we do! We just don't have it right now because we sold it." So, he was unable to see the wedding band before he purchased the ring. But, he purchased it anyways believing the sales associates. We are having a short engagement so we went back shortly after he purposed to order the band for me since we wanted to make sure it got here in time for our wedding. They didn't even take us over to the anniversary band counter! They brought us two bands over by the registers. They were the same band only one was smaller and one was bigger. The lady hovered us while we looked at the rings. We felt so uncomfortable and pressured to buy a ring. Neither one matched my engagement ring but, being first timers at this, we thought since they said it was the match that it was. The lady even told us that once it was resized to fit me that it would perfectly match the loops of my engagement ring. A couple weeks later when I picked it up I tried it on in the car with my mom and it looked bad. Wasn't even close. There was huge gaps in between the infinity loops and it just looked bad. So me and my mom went back in to talk to another lady who kindly told us the truth. That band is not a perfect match my ring it's just what they think is kind of close. So, I left that day and went home to show my fiance who also didn't like it. We started shopping around to look at other ring for me and him because we were so unhappy with the amount of money he had spent and the horrible customer service we were getting. Every store we went into offered to clean my ring. Even though they didn't sell us the ring. They didn't care, they still wanted to clean it. Helzberg NEVER offered to clean my ring on the 7 occasions were in there for screw ups. We ended up buying a straight band ring from Rogers and Hollands and returning the ring to Helzberg. The customer service there is way better and they are so much more laid back and we are able to have space to talk about things and are not pressured into buying anything like we were...
Read moreWe made two purchases at this location, first for my wedding band and then we came back and purchased my husband’s. His was purchased on 5/3 and we were married on 5/17. Three days into our honeymoon his ring broke into a few pieces, with very clean breaks. It was pretty frustrating that this happened a few days into our honeymoon and not even a month after making the purchase, but we reached out to Helzberg who told us to bring it in when we returned. When we did bring it in, the associate took it to the back, and when she came back up she said three jewelers said it was a hot tub that caused the issue. We knew it couldn’t be the case because we weren’t in any hot tubs throughout our honeymoon trip. When my husband told her that, she said jewelers are like dentists and they could tell, so it was ok if we were in a hot tub they were still going to help. This didn’t change the fact that we hadn’t stepped foot in a hot tub. I actually spent a few years in the dental industry evaluating X-rays for insurance claims, and we never would claim to know how something happened. Even with X-rays, we can only see the result of what happened, I.e a broken tooth, not what happened to break it.
If they are so sure it was heat related, the only thing I could think is that we were in the Caribbean in a very humid environment and in water, but everyone around us had their bands on and no one else seemed to have an issue. I don’t know if it was just a freak accident, or a quality issue, but coming from a customer service background, the fact that we weren’t even offered an apology about what happened (especially since it happened less than a month after purchasing and had only been worn for a few days), and instead were met with what felt like accusations really left a bad taste in our mouths. First we were told they were being nice by allowing us to replace the ring after we already used it to get married, as if it was suppose to last through the wedding only. Thankfully they did offer us a full refund in the end, but I wish the service would have been as good when we had an issue as it was when we made our...
Read moreBefore purchasing anything, I suggest you do your research. For starters, I made the mistake of opening a credit card to purchase an engagement ring. The credit cards APR is insane, and the company itself is HORRIBLE and does not work with their customers. I made a payment at 4:03pm CT, but the cut off time was 5pm ET. I was charged a $40 late fee and when I called to dispute, they told me nothing could be done. Cool, thanks. Secondly, the ring itself is a 1.5 carat center stone, 2 carat total, price was a little over $5k and that was ON SALE. I’ve been looking online and have found my DREAM ring, 5 carat, better quality diamond, dream setting for $3700. Third, when purchasing the lifetime warranty, I was told it covered lost and/or stolen jewelry items, looked up the policy a few weeks ago and it does NOT cover that. It was the only reason I purchased the insurance so I’m just very disappointed with the lies that the staff spews out to get you to purchase anything. Also was told I could trade in my ring, great right? They neglected to inform me that the other piece of jewelry has to be double the amount paid for the previous piece. Why would I pay over $10k for a ring when my dream ring is less than $4k somewhere else? Lastly, upon receiving my ring, I noticed the prongs were crooked, I was told this is normal, when I went to go size it, they brought it to my attention and said it’s an issue. LMFAO thanks, I’m aware and attempted to have addressed the second I seen it but was dismissed. PLEASE do your research prior to purchasing anything from here. And read EVERYTHING. I regret my decision immensely and would 100% return my...
