Crave Cookies - Joliet — Restaurant in Joliet

I tried Crave Cookies about six months ago and was let down—my first four cookies were gummy and underdone. I emailed the owner, Ray, and to his credit, he replied personally. He apologized and generously invited me back to try four new cookies on the house.

Today — August 5 — I followed up, and wow… what a turnaround! From the moment I walked in, the store smelled amazing, and the customer service was exceptional. Three wonderful team members — Alyssa, Nada, and Saja — greeted me warmly, and we immediately clicked.

Here’s the lineup that day:

When I asked if any of them had tried the lemon poppy seed cookie, they all laughed and admitted they hadn’t tasted it. I joked, “How are you selling cookies you've never tried?!” That lighthearted moment made me feel right at ease.

They kindly offered me a sample. And y’all… that cookie was the best I’ve ever had. Crispy at the edges (my preferred texture) and soft inside with just the right lemon-pop flavor.

I ordered:

Two lemon poppy seed cookies (they were amazing)

One classic chocolate chip

One Kit Kat Oreo (their recommendation)

I almost ordered peanut butter, but none of the team had tried that either, so I paused. 😂

When I opened the box, I found one lemon poppy seed cookie had beautifully dark, crispy edges—exactly what I love. I asked if the second could look like that too. The cashier went to the back, checked, and brought me another just like it for free.

That gesture—plus their energy, service, and humor—made my morning unforgettable.

2/5. Service: 1 Cookies: 3 Service-I walk in and I see 8 employees including the person at register. No one greets me. 2 people were standing around near me i asked if they'd been helped they said yes. I stood there and finally walked up the guy at register couldnt say a word to me just stared at me. I told him I had a coupon for buy 2 get 2. He should have automatically told me what cookies were included and advised if some were extra but I had to ask. The coupon also said free loaded drink. I said I dont know what that is. He says well you can just get a coke. I said we'll the coupon says loaded drink I dont know what options are or what that includes. He says again you can get a coke. Im like um ok. I then pay 12.92 for 2 cookies. 2 free. And the drink. I then wait. The other people were already done by the time i was at the register. I wait. 15 minutes. Im the only person there. 8 people working. No acknowledgement. I got the cookies finally. No thank you, nothing.

Cookies- The first one i try is the "better than xxx' Mind you it was very awkward asking for this from a teenager at the register. It is cold. Like ice cold. I thought it would maybe be...soft? Normal temperature? The cookie part tastes good but out of all of the ones I tried its probably the worst..the others are Dubai chocolate, s'more, red velvet oreo. The other 3 were warm. Fall apart. Crunchier on the outside, soft on inside. Im not impressed. Crumbl cookies is way better. I will...

-10 out of 10. Very disappointed with the Dubai strawberry cup. I bought 2 cups for $32 which I believe is expensive, but was willing to pay to try this new craze. Well for $32 we received cold mushy strawberries that have been premade and sitting in the fridge. You would think with such a high price they would at minimum made fresh. Strawberry’s were mushy and cold from sitting premade in the chocolate so long, and the crunchy katafi dough was not mixed with the pistachio cream so it was very dry and hard if I’m not mistaken the katafi is supposed to be mixed with the cream for a crunchy smooth consistency and I did not receive that. Im not sure how something is capable of being mush like but also dry from the katafi at the same time.
