Used to be good but after several years it has slowly gotten worse and I don't mean the equipment it self, not the it's that great either but, some of the employees. Since I have been there the upper or management acts very entitled and rude. Never once said hello or goodbye, only the regular employees do that now i guess. The older woman with a ponytail seems to make it her misson to tell everyone what to do and only treats the people she know with kindness. So if you dont talk to anyone be prepared to be treated rudly. I've never been rude and never talk to anyone but yet get dirty looks and treatment and it's only by the management not the regular employees. I've tried smiling and saying hello but it's always followed by a frown or dirty look. I've never been treated like that at any gym. Ive been told I could not work out in a certain area because they cut ot off for a class even though nobody was in it. Also the gym has bugs as well which I reported to the rude management girl with the ponytail and she just gave me a dirty look and said ill take care of it. I waited a couple weeks and then found another one. So much for that. I finally quit going and went to a different gym. Not once have I been treated in a bad way since. I would never reccomend Colaw. It has gone down hill and isn't getting better sadly. PS. I do have pics of the bugs. Very disgusting. Maybe focus on what's important and you will retain your business. My nephew still goes there saying he is trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but I will never step foot in there again.
Update! I was informed by my nephew that the general manager (pony tail girl) called my nephew and asked him if he wrote this review because we have the same last name. Wow! I literally stated in my review that my nephew was still going there so they call my nephew and harass him. He had to tell them to stop messaging him or he would contact my brother (lawyer). I told him to quit and go somewhere else. Never have I ever been more apauled over customer service. Sadly this is supposed to be a place to release tension but have only caused more and more problems. Hope they do something about this but I wouldn't...
Read morePurchased a Day pass for consecutive days while visiting the in laws for Christmas. 5 star service level from the staff. Saw a lot of cleaning and helpful , efficient front desk to get liability form signed etc. Rated 4 stars mainly due to what some may consider a preference issue vs. Anything significantly derogatory. 1) they dont have deadlift stations and 2) use of rubber weights rather than Iron except for machines This is likely due to the preference issue around culture. Place is clean, friendly and you can get a good work out in. That said, they have a ridiculous rule under the heading "dont be a gym jerk." Where "No grunting is allowed". God forbid someone actually tries really hard to do something challenging. I get it,they want to market to families and that means women. But the desire to feminize gyms and turn them i to libraries is silly. I know a theres appearantly a lot of frail newbies to fitness that i guess get scared of noises, but I promise you it is MUCH easier to push yourself to improve if you are around people working out with intensity and energy. - if that is being done right, it is NOT ALWAYS a quiet affair. Its really an attack on masculinity that seems to have fultered into many gyms. This is exemplified by the fact that there is another rule "no muscle shirts that dont fully cover the chest." Of course the 20 something shorty walking in with nothing but lulumon and sports bra is of course fully welcomed with no prohibition.
In fairness to this location, i didnt observe these rules being enforced and staff didnt say anything to me.... neither did i really grunt either. But then again, i couldnt get to max intensity. I guess that is something that is reserved for my home gym.
All said, clean, great place i would recommend for new / families and for feneral fitness.
If your looking to get ripped or just enjoy the intensity of hitting it hard, probably better options...
