ALDI — Local services in Jurupa Valley

I Have Frequented This Location Since Opening In 2024; At Least Once A Week. I Was Absolutely Thrilled About A Location Opening Close To Me, As I Dread Going To Bigger Chain Stores To Shop & In Such Distant Areas When I Dont Feel Like Driving Far. I Moved Across The Country & Have Found Peace Here In Jurupa Valley. However, Todays’ Shopping Trip Ended Anything Far From Peaceful. As I Approached The Front To Check Out, I Headed Towards Self Checkout, As Always. Today, I Was Rudely Informed About How Self Checkout Was 15 Items Now. I Did Have 24, So It Is Understandable; But With An Attitude & In Front Of A Crowd Of Customers Waiting To Check Out? As I Then Proceeded To Wait 10 Minutes In Line, I Was Met With My Groceries Being Tossed Into My Cart Like A Barrel Of Hay As The Cashier Hurried To Get The Line Down But Also Making Sure To Take Breaks To Text On Her Phone & “Chit Chat” With Other Associates; Once Again Resulting In More Time I Now Had To Wait; As Well As Spend Time Bagging My Items. I Love Shopping At Aldi But This Was Not The First Time I Have Experienced Poor & Unacceptable Customer Service At This Location. So It Is The Final Straw. I Might Still Shop At Aldi But Never At This...

Earlier at the store around 4pm I witnessed a female cashier and a male associate publicly try and humiliate a customer, a young female at the self checkout mind you after the incident they both looked at each other and smirked and began silently laughing. They claimed she had more items than 15. Clearly I saw that she had less than 15 but I think it was because how the customer was dressed that they acted out or spite and began to out her, mind you the gentleman at the check out next to them had an entire cart of items and they didn’t approach him about it. it was extremely rude the way both the male and female cashier acted towards her and proceeded to cancel her transaction on the self check out and made her pay with a cashier, the female cashier was just staring and making faces at the customer and continued to loudly out her in public with other customers beginning to look over. Very unprofessional and rude. Management should train their staff better. Poor girl looked extremely...

Shrinkflation has hit Aldi extremely hard over the past 2 years. Snack bars that are about 20% smaller than they were just a year ago, smaller potato chip bags with less than half the bag full, cereal that has ballooned in price over the last 2 years, with portions significantly cut down. Such a shame to see it here too.

Aldi used to be an excellent place to shop on a budget.

I remember the first time I walked into Aldi in 2021, I could not believe the prices for the size of items you could get. Just as an example, Corn flakes was less than $1.25 ... Now it has more than doubled in price and the portion has been cut by more than 1/3rd.

These days prices are just about the same as any other grocery store, given the portions that you get. Especially if you compare just store brand names for items.

That said, raising prices is one thing, and it can be excused, but it's particularly insulting when companies engage in shrinkflation thinking that we...
