This place has some good places for those of us who watch our money carefully, so I am a frequent visitor to Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and less so, but still often, to 99 Cents Only store. Before I go into further details on what I like about this center is poor design makes the traffic bunch terribly at the center's entrance, and there are two places I am surprised do not frequently cause accidents. The center recently tried to make things a little safer by making an area in front and the area by 99 Cents Store one way but a high percentage of drivers are ignoring these signs.
Now for the good. I am not sure how long ago 99 Cents Store opened, but it, Pedley Square Vet and maybe one or two other stores still there in this center hung on from 2007 to 2014, during which time the grocery store now Wal-Mart was closed. The former Carrows Restaurant gave it a good go as well, but unfortunately closed down just months before Wal-Mart arrived. It's an El Salvadoran restaurant now and I hope to try it someday but we'll see. What I can and will recommend in this shopping center is the Pedley Square Vet, Pizza Fanz Restaurant (another one dating back to before 2007) and the Michocoan ice cream store, which was the first of many of this kind of ice cream store to open. As a Michocoan store it has some interesting flavors like tequila (delicious) and even more interesting toppings like Flaming Cheetos (couldn't tell you). I've also used the laundromat, Pizza Hut and Yum Yum Donuts. Laundromat is a great one to use if you must use the laundromat. I will choose Pizza Fanz over Pizza Hut any time, but a family friend who lives at least five miles away in Riverside will drive to this Pizza Hut for the $5 pepperoni pizza. As for Yum Yum Donuts, go east to Limonite and Camino Real for much better donuts at American Donuts or go west to Etiwanda and Limonite for even better still at...
Read moreDo you like to wait 10-15 minutes in the check out line?
This is by far the worst place to shop in Jurupa Valley. The parking lot is a cluster, and an unorganized mess.
At Walmart you'll wait in line forever (pics) because they only employ 1 checker, encouraging you to use one of their 8 self check lines.
You will most likely encounter homeless and be asked for money from a panhandlers, and various donation seekers as you enter & exit. Then theres always straggly dirty homeless ppl walking the lot talking & arguing with themselves.
Besides the businesses on the markee, you can quite often buy illegal DVDs, elote (corn) & tamales from people selling straight out of their trunks. Especially on weekends.
Keep your doors locked, Ive personally seen people walking through the parking lot, with backpacks on, trying to open doors of cars parked in the lot.
Dont leave valuables visible inside your car, or they'll bust out your window, again Ive personally seen broken auto glass in the parking lot on several occasions.
I avoid Jurupa Springs aka Pedley Square, because of the lack of security at this center.
I would absolutly suggest you dont shop here after 4 p.m., leave your children at home & keep you purse on your shoulder or it will be lifed out of your cart when your...
Read moreToday I stopped by the 99-cents only store to stock up on some items I needed. But when I tried to pay for the items,$44 worth,my debit card wouldn't work, and I only had around$10 in cash on me. Embarrassed and angry,I was forced to walk out without my groceries. I called my cards customer service line who also stated the card had been canceled. It was then that I realized I had left my new card at home .Two hours later I returned just to buy a few items I needed before the store closed. I didn't have the time to go through the store again to pick up the things I couldn't pay for earlier. That is when I got a pleasant surprise. Hilda, the store manager, had set all my groceries aside, figuring I would probably come back. She even sorted out the refrigerated items and put them in the soda cooler near the checkstands. She turned a frustrating and embarrassing experience into a pleasant and very thoughtful one. She certainly looks out for her customers and in my case,it was greatly appreciated! It shows she keeps her eye on the ball and truly manages this store very well....
