Took my kiddo to get a wolf cut. Was super excited. She hasn't been to a salon in awhile. Told the hairstylist we wanted a wolf cut. Asked her if she wanted a picture showed her a picture. She then had to ask the stylist next to her how to do it. The cut itself is not bad but it is no where near a wolf cut. It's just layering in front. . She lightly layered in back for a long layered look. Not the sharp angled layeres needed for a wolf cut. No texture whatsoever. I was not asked if it looked OK if I wanted anything changed. After the initial two sentences on her cut i was not asked another question about her cut. Her sisters without me saying a word even asked what they did because there is hardly any difference in her hair. As we were checking out, I was asked if I wanted to book anything else. I said no. Then Immediate eye roll. This was even after I tipped for a haircut I knew I would either need to fix up myself to actually look like a wolf cut or leave it be. I always tip for these types of services and to be understanding but the insult of rolling your eyes after a lack for luster job is just obnoxious.
It really grinds my gears after all that to get eyes rolled at me for not wanting to book further. I really hope this stylist gets more training before cutting others hair. Wolf cut is a pretty popular cut and I'm super disappointed we spent money on something we normally wouldn't for it not to even resemble the cut we asked for. I really loved the look of the place itself and until not booking further was treated well. But definitely won't go out of my way to drive all the way out there to be disappointed again. Also if she is that new that she has to ask how to do a wolf cut why is no one supervising her cuts or checking them? We were originally booked with another stylist but she was not there. If you want to be upset that someone doesn't want to book further with you instead of rolling your eyes maybe ask how you can improve? If my daughter would have gotten a wolf cut and maybe a little bit more of a consult about the hair cut for my daughter I probably would have booked again. Unfortunately that is not how it went. Hopefully this review will inspire some training so another individual doesn't feel like their...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place. The salon itself is adorable, and everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I came in for a regular trim and asked for “as little off as possible with a little bit of layering.” The stylist initially showed me about half an inch to an inch, which was perfect, so I agreed.
I understand this part is on me, but I wasn’t really paying attention to how much she was taking off in the beginning of the service, and by the time I realized it was more than I expected, it felt too late to say anything. I didn’t want to risk her cutting even more to “fix” it. In the end, a significant amount was taken off.
My hair grows very slowly, and it has taken me years to grow it to the length it was, getting regular trims about twice a year to keep it healthy. So this was really upsetting. I’ve spent the past few days feeling confused and disappointed about how “just an inch” turned into several. It’s now so short I can’t even pull it back into a claw clip, which has made it tough to style day to day.
What’s made this even more difficult is that I have a lot of important events and milestones coming up this year, both for myself and for the people I care about. I’ve found myself avoiding photos altogether because I’m so unhappy with how my hair looks. It’s incredibly frustrating to know it could take years to get back to where it was.
If you’re trying to grow your hair out or are particular about length, I’d recommend being extra, extra clear and keeping a close eye during the cut, or going somewhere else altogether.
I added a picture of what my hair looked like before and then what my hair looks like now, after...
Read moreI was referred to Molly by a good friend back in 2018 after a different stylist had ruined my color. Molly met me for a consultation - a first for me after going to a dozen stylists over my adult life - and listened to make sure she understood my concerns and goals with my hair. Three years later I’ve referred several friends and continue to see Molly multiple times a year. She is a real master with color. Before her I never could achieve the ashy blonde color I prefer and tone out any brassiness. She has also introduced me to many products to help repair my hair’s condition (my naturally kinky and wavy hair is always dry!). On top of being so skilled Molly is also an enjoyable person who is kind and easy to spend a lot of time in the chair with. Whether I need to focus and be on my laptop during our appointment to stay on top of work or want to take a break and just chat Molly is always game! Thanks for a great head of hair! I recommend Grow to anyone looking for a great stylist. Bonus points for being a boss babe who owns her own...
