Overall experience was OK! Sherry is very sweet and nice host. It was a great place for small party.. I’m just not satisfied with the final products. Pottery making - if you have a group of 7, make it a private party and DON’T go over 10 ppl in your party. They only have 7 seating at a time and you would have to take turn. We had a big group and taking turn, Sherry seems rushing us and “helped” most of us making the pottery within 5 minutes.. which mean you won’t be able to take time and learn the pottery making. My hands-on time was less than 5 minutes and my products were ended up making by Sherry.
Pottery collections - you can collect your pieces after 10 days. Make sure you check your products before you leave. We found a few pieces were either cracked or broken. Sherry replaced with similar pottery pieces made by other party groups (maybe that’s why some ppl complaints their pieces were missing?)
Pottery painting - it was fun! We took our own sweet time to paint there while there was another group of people came in for pottery making.
I was excited about the final products after glazing. But guess what.. when I collected my pieces, there are white dusty sprinklers inside my pottery pieces (look at the pics)! Sherry apologized and said she didn’t know what happened! She didn’t know who put the dust inside the pottery pieces before or after she glazed them. 9 out of 10 pieces have the same problem! So even I have my final products glazed, I can’t even use it for food due to the sprinkler dust.. what am I paying for?! Definitely not...
Read moreI recently visited Katy Paint and Pottery Studio and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Whether you’re a beginner or someone with more experience in ceramics, this place offers something for everyone.
The studio has plenty of space to work comfortably. The atmosphere is welcoming and creative—perfect for relaxing and letting your imagination take over.
The instructors are truly the highlight. They’re not only incredibly skilled but also patient, friendly, and encouraging. I went there with my family including seniors and kids as young as 3. We took a wheel-throwing class, and our instructor guided us step by step, making sure everyone felt confident and supported. I appreciated how they balanced technique with personal creativity.
I also loved that they offer open studio time for independent work, which is great if you want to keep practicing outside of class. Plus, the community vibe among regulars is warm and inspiring—it’s clear this is a space that brings people together through art.
Highly recommend Katy Paint and Pottery Studio to anyone looking to try pottery for the first time or deepen their craft. I’ll...
Read moreI only have this one star so it would make people see this review. This place is so scary. There’s no sign pointing to which building is the official art studio. I heard people talking and I went to that half open door assuming that was the pottery class I signed up for. I saw a person in a hospital bed hooked up to machines while another person was on the phone. I backed out of there swiftly and got into my truck and called my husband being that my gut didn’t feel right. I tried calling the business but there was no answer. It was definitely quite creepy and something didn’t sit right with me. There were other half open doors with people taking but I wasn’t going to find out what was in the other ones. There were several other cars in the odd shaped driveway and only one slim way in or out. Just be aware the place feels questionable if you’re bringing yourself or kids....
