Juana de Avila Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in Texas

Today was my fourth visit to Juana de Ávila, and I am convinced I will not return. The atmosphere is lovely, with beautiful decor and style, but the service and quality have been steadily declining.

During my first visit, the service was excellent; however, when it came time to order from the menu, literally nothing I selected was available. I justified it at the time, assuming the restaurant was still new. I decided to give it another chance, but the same issue occurred again—great service and ambiance, but nothing on the menu was available.

A third visit yielded the same experience, so I stopped going for a while. Today, after more than a month, I decided to return, only to confirm that there is no justification for the situation. Despite having an extensive menu, almost nothing is actually available—just ham and cheese cachitos, empanadas, and fried pastries. It is baffling that such a situation is not disclosed to customers beforehand, leading to a complete waste of time.

To make matters worse, today’s service fell short of expectations. I am very disappointed. Juana de Ávila is a place with great potential, but it fails in the area where it should excel: the food. Truly...

Unfortunately this place was not what I was expecting it to be. From the moment we walked in the greeting was very cold & uninviting from the lady in the front. Despite her poor customer service I still ordered a latte and an Americano. The latte tasted like spoiled milk. We also ordered two plates an order of their three stacked pancakes and Texas omelet that took 40 minutes to come out, mind you we were the only people in the restaurant at the time. When our food came out the cook brought out one plate and handed it to lady in the front who took our order she was handling another customer so she stood there holding our food while finishing a to go order of pastries. Once she finished attending the customer she went back into the kitchen to wait for our second plate which took another 10 minutes to finally be placed in her hand. We eventually asked for our food to go….Forty minutes of waiting only to find hair in our food. Poor customer service. Distasteful coffee & food. Please give other places a try before spending your time...

I ordered a Minnie Mouse cake for my grand daughter's birthday, sent him a picture as well, when I got the cake it was NOTHING like the pictur, I wanted a 10 and 12inch, I got a 8 and 10 inch, I wanted Amaretto and marble, I received Amaretto and white. I messaged the owner, he told me his cake was better than my picture and he liked it. seemed like he doesn't care what the customer want, it's all about what he likes. No one like the cake! someone said it tasted like "medicine " Instead of making things right, he was so smug and continued to justify what he did and he was happy about it!!!! it's definitely NOT about...
