Neymar's Barber Shop — Local services in Katy

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I had to this time. I called ahead to see if they had availability and the front desk guy told me that there were three barbers and he said that I could use any of them. I told him I would arrive in 20 minutes and I ended up arriving 30 minutes later, which I understand they may get busy so I asked instead of they could still take me and he said yes, but the barber he asked looked VERY annoyed and to me that was disrespectful, but he said he could take me and against my better judgment I decided to stay. 35 minutes go by and his customer leaves and another guy walks in and just sits in his chair and the front desk guy doesn’t think to tell me anything so I go up to him and ask him how long I’m gonna have to wait and he just says “ I don’t know when any of them are available “ and I asked if that guy had an appointment and he just brushed it off, and he also looked irritated at the fact that they were closing and that I still wanted to get my haircut done….that’s when I decided I was going to leave. I go up to him and let him know and again he physically looks incredibly annoyed and asked me” do you want to schedule an appointment for tomorrow?” So I said no, as I’m walking out I turn around, and I see that all of them are laughing. I consider myself respectful and understanding but this just seemed out of line to me and honestly unnecessary, I didn’t make a big deal or disrespect anyone so they could’ve at the very least treated the situation the same way and left it at that. Needless to say I won’t be going back, they lost a customer and a business that cares will genuinely care about every customer that walks in. Not sure who is running this place but maybe a refresher on etiquette, respect and professionalism could do wonders for this place, specially the barber who was supposed to help me and thankfully did not. I saw on Yelp that there was a new barbershop about to open. I really needed a haircut, so I went to see them today, which was also their grand opening. The shop has all new fixtures and was neat and clean. I guess it was the luck of the draw that I got Tony as my Barber. I didn't understand at first why Tony didn't respond when I asked him a question, but I figured out he only spoke Spanish. A few minutes later, a nice fellow named Robert translated to Tony what I wanted done. I admit I was a bit nervous that he didn't speak English, but Robert came by and checked on me to ensure all my questions were answered. Wow, I got a great haircut and shave; Tony was so meticulous and definitely knew what he was doing; I am not exaggerating when I say I believe it was the best haircut I've ever gotten; the icing on the cake was that it was free for the grand opening. Needless to say, I will be back.

Update 9/20: came back for the 4th time and had the worst haircut and beard trim of my life!

So bad I ended up going elsewhere to have it fixed so in the end I paid over $100 for a hair cut and beard trim. $70 plus tip here and $25 plus tip somewhere else.

Hugo didn’t fade my hair very well at all or even trim around my ears. The beard trim that was $20 consisted of cutting it shorter from the bottom and using an electric razor on my cheeks. No trimming of the sides or straight razor like it was done in the past.

I figure when I left he just didn’t style it because it would have been a up charge but I think it was because even he wasn’t proud of his work. I trusted that it would be fine when I got home to style it. But I was wrong.

This was the first time ever I’d had friends make a comment on my haircut and beard. It was that bad.
