Good afternoon. Please keep in mind that this is only my specific experience. In no way do I mean to trash this complex. Only speaking my truth. I will keep all names private to not shame anyone.
I toured the Vineyards with a very lovely leasing agent. The tour was fantastic, and my son and I really loved the property. I applied for the apartment, and I waited. I had to constantly follow up with them because they do not keep you updated once you put in your application. Outside of one phone call regarding documents (a phone call that I made to them, not them calling me), I could never get any information. Any time I called, I would get no answer or have someone tell me that a specific agent is working my application, so I would need to speak to her. I would call every morning, but since I wasn't getting answers I would login to the portal every morning where I applied (after them not answering the phone) to see the status of my application.
I called yesterday and was once again told that I would need to speak with the agent who was assigned to my application. I was told she was unavailable, and that the lady I was currently speaking with would call me back in a few once she's heard or received updates from the assigned agents. No one ever called back.
I got up this morning again and called, but received no answer. So, I went to the portal to check my status, but it said my account had been disabled. I had no idea why.
I called and called and finally got someone on the phone, and for the first time, I actually got my specific agent on the line. She acted as if she had no idea who I even was (asking me over and over what my name is, etc.), and stated she could not find an application for me. Confused by this, I ended up reiterating the exact unit # I applied for, and she still had no idea. Then, like magic, she remembered who I was (even though we have similar names that we discussed while on tour). She told me that she attempted to reach out to me yesterday (which they absolutely did not), but didn't say what happened when she tried. I had zero missed calls, zero emails from them, nothing. She then proceeded to tell me that I had been denied. She claims they also sent an email, but they did not. I asked her why I was denied, because I meet all of the requirements. She then proceeded to tell me that I have two evictions on my screening (mind you, I have never been evicted before from anywhere). I was denied and they never felt the need to contact me or let me know, then lied and said they did. Once she informed me over the phone, she told me should would send an email with the information. Which she also never did.
Granted, I understand that what came back on a screening is not their fault, and I was told to contact the screening agency they use for further details. It's the lack of communication and lying that hurt my feelings. I needed to move ASAP, and they could have told me so that I could keep looking elsewhere, and now we're at "move in day," and me and my kids are homeless with nowhere to stay, and I'm out of $250 for the application and admin fee.
I just wish America wasn't so crappy. Again, I have never been evicted before, and I don't know how or what they're looking at when saying I had two evictions, but even if I had, evictions and homelessness are at an all-time high. Life has happened to so many people in this current economy. And just because life does happen does not mean people shouldn't deserve housing. Having to APPLY for a place to live and be APPROVED by entities that do not care whether we live or die or if we end up homeless is insane. And again, that part has nothing to do with this complex. EVERYONE deserves to have the safety of home, regardless of what they may have gone through in life. It's like if you've ever been through any financial issue, all of a sudden you're inhuman and do not deserve to LIVE. Even after you have recovered.
The one-star review is due to their lack of communication, and the bind I am now in due to this.
Thank you, Vineyards, for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is my own experience with the staff in the office. The manager Maria is amazing. She's always pleasant, and she really cares about her tenants living experience while here. Whenever I need something fixed I call the office and ask for Maria because I know she will take care of it as soon as possible. If Maria isn't there I ask for Daniella. She's great, and very helpful. Daniella always make sure Maria gets my messages, and if Maria is there she gives her the phone so I can speak with her. I called the office Nov. 9, 2022 to put in a work order directly with Maria for something that was needed right away. She informed me that they were short staffed. I understood because there are a lot of companies short staffed. Honestly speaking, in general it usually takes anywhere from 3 days to a week to get work orders done in any apartments. Anyways, I put the rest of the work order in online. Monday Nov. 14, 2022 the new maintenance man Joe came and fixed my plumbing. The next day Nov. 15, 2022 the maintenance man Joe came back and fixed three of the important items in the work order, and he said he would have to order a part and come back to install it when the part arrives. There are a few other things that needs to be done, but they're not urgent or important right now. If later on down the line I have a big problem with those items I will not hesitate to call Maria and ask if she could send Joe the new maintenance man. Joe is very quick and he really tries to fix everything that he can while he's there. I said all of this to say, if you really want a work order completed call the office and ask for Maria. I also know I must be patient because there are a lot of units in these Apartments, and if the office is short staff of maintenance men then there's no way to get to every tenant right away. That's why after those 3 to 7 days pass, I would call or put another work order in. If it's urgent or important to you, like anything in life you keep trying until you get it done. Update as of November 22, 2022. Jose and Julio came to fix two more items that were included in the work order. I'm thankful for both of them and they work good together. Jose is wonderful. I really admire his work ethics. He was here for over an hour because he said he wanted to fix the problem. Previous maintenance men before him kept saying it was an electrical problem and it would take too much time to fix. Jose didn't care how long it took, he was very determined to fix the problem that day. I am much more happier with the results of the job that he did. He fixed the lights and the outlets in the living and laundry room. I am so happy with Maria and her new maintenance team. Of course she can't take care of office and maintenance work by herself, so she needs reliable employees to help her take care of her tenants to improve their living experience while staying here. Thank you Knightvest Management for keeping Maria as manager and hiring new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere to start.... I had my sister staying with me for the Thanksgiving weekend with her pet puppy. Now both of these are on the lease as acceptable not to exceed 14 days within a 12 month period. We left my apartment at 2pm leaving her pup on the balcony keeping in mind she was to big to fit through the rails. At 4:45 I received a voicemail from Duwon at the apartment complex telling me I need to pay a $500 deposit because no dogs were listed on my lease. Now I didnāt answer the call because Iām in the movies with my family. Once I get out of the movies I attempt to call the office back but they are closed. So I head straight home to the apartment getting there about 5:45. First thing I see is a sheriff officer outside so I go upstairs thinking something had happened. Only to get to the door and see a threatening letter stating I violated my lease and animal control was called and WOULD be ENTERING my home to get the dog out. I didnāt know apartment complexās had the right to let someone enter without probably cause. The sheriff called my phone and asked me to go downstairs. Once I presented the situation the officer was upset at management for calling the sheriff department for a non emergency reason with no laws being broken. Maria came outside of her apartment who is supposedly the office manager only to be disrespectful and lie to me stating this was a serious complaint and lease violation as we are not allowed to dog sit which is incorrect because the lease says I can. She also was rude and disrespectful in her tone and body language. She also violated my personal information for giving my contact information out to the sheriff with no probable cause including taking my information outside the office after hours. The next day when I called the office to advise duwon stated I did violate the lease when I informed her of the wording in the lease she stated to take it up with Maria. I asked for the corporate number only to get a incorrect phone number from her. I had a threat of animal control entering my home and the sheriff dept called and received a lease violation for leaving a puppy out for 3 hours. Breaking no lease rules at all Donāt lease here they also donāt pick up the trash on schedule the gate is always broken and they claimed to launch the security system back in the beginning of November with it still not working. Not including my packages being given to other residence because they donāt ask for ID. Duwon and Maria are rude, disrespectful, and...
