Rick Rice is a Great Park! It's easily accessible to the neighborhood. It's beautiful, picturesque and very clean. It's a wonderful place to walk, Relax and be with your family. The only negative I can tell right now at the park is. There is no restroom for Visitors. I think that is a SHAME 🙁 There is obviously a building that can be made into a restroom. It is clearly labeled that it is NOT A RESTROOM. However, its located directly across from the Pavillion and Benches and Reflection area - A PERFECT LOCATION. So, why not have one? But I think that does a disservice to the community and it's a whole reflection of the Park' Staff and Board of Directors concern for a full service Park. To give a well-rounded experience, at athe Park, You NEED TO provide a Public Restroom. You have provided a space to have meditation, to have reflection to exercise our bodies, to clean up behind our pets, to bring snacks to have a meeting with friends. Why wouldn't you provide a public restroom? I walk at the park 2 times a week.; Spending anywhere from an hour to an hour and a 1/2 at the park. You need To seriously consider adding a restroom for park visitors. I imploe you Rick Rice Park Board of Directors do the right thing and ADD A RESTROOM.

Read moreI've been to this park a lot and having spent some time here I'll share some of the things I like about it.
If you are a pet person, they have fountains for dogs to drink from scattered along the walking path.
The park is set a hit away from most of the roads and so it tends to be nice and quiet. A lot of people use this park for walking or jogging. Full disclosure: I'm not a people person but it actually makes me feel better that so many people use this park because I feel like it is rather safe for so many people to keep using it. So I don't really mind seeing a lot of people walking or jogging.
There's a veterans memorial tucked away in a corner, which is nice because it reminds me of the park where I used to live.
All in all, definitely recommend this place as it is walker and jogger friendly, espcially if you live in one of the...
Read moreThis is a really cool park and feels like a great place to go, especially if you are disabled. I say that because this place gives me a lot of hope and gives me a lot of peace. It also has led me too many resources that I did not know about. This is a treasure in the city that I live in and I wish that people went to it more often in my opinion because it feels like it’s empty most of the time and they have a huge parking lot. It’s also right next to a church so I’m sure that a time is it gets used for that purpose but honestly, honestly, I feel like most people use it for prom or homecoming pictures. As always much love from Houston and...
