Last night I stayed in one of the jacuzzi rooms. By the looks of the hotel, you'd think you'd get top notch service and a spotless room. Unfortunately that was not the case.
Upon walking into the jacuzzi room you get slapped with the smell of old water and mildew. It was so bad that I had taken the air freshener out of my car to mask the smell. Thinking the jacuzzi was clean my fiancé started to fill it up. Come to find out it was FILTHY. He wiped the edge of the tub with one of their white washcloths and BOOM nothing but brown gunk. So we decided to wipe the inside of the tub... I nearly gagged. All I could ask myself was "Has this thing ever been cleaned?"
Next, I wanted to get a couple drinks and snacks from the vending machine in the room with the washers - the Coke machine had HARDLY any drinks and it ate $2 of my money. The vending machine didn't even take my crisp dollar bills.
Then, the morning I checked out I went to grab breakfast.. The potatoes were hard and overcooked and everything else looked like it came from a microwave. Please tell me the proper way to cook eggs.. Because it's definitely not in a microwave.
Finally I got my things together to check out, after leaving a note in the describing everything I had mentioned above, never complaining to front desk about anything. Everything went smoothly until an hour later when I got a phone call saying that I was being charged $250 for smoking in the room. I don't smoke - I have severe life threatening allergies to smoke. As for my boyfriend, he's a severe asthmatic. We DO NOT and DID NOT smoke. I politely told the receptionist that called me that we did not smoke in the room and all she could say is "Uhh, yes you did the housekeeper told me." At that point all I could think was how ridiculous the situation was but wait.. There's more. After telling her we didn't smoke and her telling me that my card had declined the $250 charge, she proceeded to THREATEN me by saying she was calling the cops and going to press charges for THEFT if I wasn't back up there to pay her. I reluctantly agreed and after saying "Okay, I'll pay it." She quickly comes back with, "Oh, so you WANT me to call the cops?!"
I eventually drove back up there to pay, because a THEFT CHARGE?! I have never stolen anything. I have a clear record but now I'm out of $250 because of some "he said/she said" bologna. I would NEVER stay here again and I will tell EVERYONE about...
Read moreThe best thing about this hotel was that the bed was HUGE and comfy. It had a downside though, the smell! It smelled like too much bleach or cleaner or something was used. Almost had to just leave. You could smell it in the hallway as soon as you walked in. Cleaning crew trying to cover up mold or something? Just speculation so take that with a grain of salt.
Pillows were comfy too, and I'm one of "those" people that misses their very subjective pillow at home and cant usually get comfortable with standard pillows. Read: picky with pillows. Had an iron (didnt use, prefer steamers) and a fridge. There was a tv, didn't use it. The room also had a couch, which was awesome. There were usb c and usb A ports on both sides of the bed, but one was usb 3/charged your phones turbo speed and the other was just standard old school usb 2.0 and slow charge. One morning when I woke up and the phone wasnt at 100%, sad panda.
Breakfast was kinda meh. Eggs, sausage and english muffins one day, biscuits in place of the english muffins the next day. Would've been nice if there was some cheese to have like a breakfast sandwhich or something (i dont think slices of cheese would be all that different pricewise than the cream cheese they had for the bagels). No butter, margarine only. Some cold cereal. Coffee was very watered down. They had a machine with a few fruit juices too.
Tldr, this place could be better but could also be worse. I didnt see any roaches or anything like that in the rooms. The biggest complaint was the overwhelming smell of the cleaning stuff. Liked the layout of the room, LOVED the big, comfy bed. And the couch (which seemed to have a fold out under it, so this room couldve slept 4-6 in case travelers with larger parties stop here for the night. Theres a Popeye's chicken and a McDonalds within walking distance if hungry. The Popeyes seemed open quite late. Not far from one of the highways (10? Or 610? Dont remember). Lots of international food within a short (5 min max) drive too (Mediterranean, Venezuelan, Italian, various...

Apparently 7 min is long enough when the managers wife wants to park there, so she could park in the shade. We unloaded part of my truck into the room but was not finished when I received a call telling me I needed to move. As we unloaded into the room we found a pair of dirty socks rolled up on the floor. I brought them to the front and received a hearty "I'm sorry, that's funny" On night number 2, I went to sit down in the chair and found a whole hardened chicken nugget stuck to the side, lucky thing I was hungry. Bawahahahaha. ||Breakfast is not served but I was informed that McDonald's does, no kidding Sherlock! I understand that people are still concerned about the Covid, but I just stayed in another Comfort suites in Beaumont Tx. and it was fantastic, with breakfast. Day four, while sitting in my Nugget Chair a roach ran across my leg and onto the bed. || I won't bother you with the staff because they (on person) are almost non existent. The room is cleaned okay but feels dirty, including the tables and desk (sticky). Decor looks like it was purchased at a hotel sale. The size of the room is standard. As for the Internet, well i'm using my hot spot to write this review because internet is terrible and continually cuts out. || My stay ends tomorrow and instead of extending my stay another week, I walked over to the Hampton Inn and booked a week there. I know they are friendly, the rooms are clean and I won't be treated like a second, third class citizen.|||| I stay at choice hotels a lot because of work but I will never stay here again. And before you say, this guy is just a pampered little bleep, you should know I stay in some real crappy places on the road but when i'm in Katy Texas, staying at Comfort Suites I...
