“Shorts season is here” is what the sign outside reads…don’t be fooled! If you are looking for 9”, 10”, and MAYBE (if you are lucky) 11” seam shorts then this is it. But the shorts are for people who don’t pick up a tool daily, someone who sits behind the desk, or your younger guy who likes to show off the thigh (he’s young & new…he will learn, the elders will teach him). And how can you not have black shorts or pants? They have 2 brands for shorts - Ariat and Carhartt. Even the young lady sitting behind the desk said it’s more about the fashion. Give me a break. I am actually appalled at the summer selection.
This store was excellent years ago, with a variety of brands, styles, and colors that people in the working field actually need to wear in order to be comfortable & functional at work. Now, it is majority Carhartt- don’t get me wrong, great brand but not everyone wants or can afford Carhartt- with other big brands sprinkled within. I use to be able to go in, get clothes that were functional, not necessarily fashionable, and if they didn’t have the size or color - they went out of their way to order it. Are there new owners? Is someone else doing the buying/inventory?
I found 1 pair of shorts in clearance that were functional, but waaaaaay too big. I asked if they were discontinued or if we could look to see if we can order them in the size I was looking for. I was told they couldn’t order them, didn’t even look it up on the computer. Okay, that’s fine - but I did look online, the company is still in business and I was also able to find them on Amazon. My family would rather give small businesses money, but I guess this place isn’t it.
By all means…owners, sales people, gift givers of top brand names to people who don’t need the functionality and Carthartt loving fashionistas - this is your place. So, where do the men and women who work in the field buy...
Read moreIn searching for a Carhartt jacket online I found Midwest Workwear amongst other vendors with the jacket I desired to purchase. I immediatly noticed their Carharrt product selection and instock size options was "the Best" compared to several other options I could make. In addition, they offered the lowest prices and best shipping rates for me, this sealed the deal. I live in Kihei, Hawaii, and many mainland companies overcharge for shipping to HI, as if islanders don't realize USPS Flat, Priority Rates are the same to Hawaii as they are to any other U.S. State; however shipping to Hawaii and Alaska is often doubled. Upon placing my order their was some confusion as to my mailing address, I was sent an email, and also received a voice message from Alecia the same to confirm / resolve my home address before shipping the jacket. Great Customer Service! I had no idea how big of business MW is. However, I have since read, and viewed pictures online where this is a family owned business. I for one prefer spending my money with a "family owned business" so I am even happier knowing I made the choice to purchase from Midwest Workwear. Five Stars! Many Mahalos...
Read moreI have ordered online my share of items since this service has become available to the consumer; however, I had never had such a vendor ever spend so much time and energy to make an order right when the manufacturer of the product would do nothing. I ordered a pair of expensive heated gloves from Midwestern Workwear because they had the best price on the internet. Well within the warranty period, the left glove failed. The manufacturer (Venture) refused to honor the warranty because Midwest Workwear no longer carried their products. Midwest Workwear had one pair left in their inventory and replaced the pair of failed gloves. Upon receiving the replacement pair of gloves, I discovered the right glove was faulty. Midwest Workwear sent me both pairs of gloves, batteries and chargers at no extra charge with the explanation that the failure rate of the Venture products cause them to no longer sell their product. Midwest Workwear made the extra effort to do their best to get me a left and right heated glove that functioned properly. They really did not have to do this but I am grateful that they did. Don and Kevin Grissman are great folks with...
