We recently adopted two kittens from Purr Nation Cat Alliance. Originally their names were Cooper and Romy, and they have been updated to Appa and Momo. We love our new kittens more than I can put into words. We recently lost our dog of 12 years very suddenly to cancer, and these kittens have helped to fill a quiet house. They are lovable, cuddly, curious, full of energy, and amazing companions.
Our experience with Purr Nation was fantastic. We attended one of their adoption events with the intention of finding a bonded pair of kittens, and immediately fell in love. The application and adoption process were easy and painless, and we were provided with excellent documentation of the kittens medical history. The kittens had been fostered and are extremely well behaved. They use the litter box without issue which is amazing! We even had the happy coincidence of running into their foster parent Alan, who was extremely helpful. He told us about their habits and preferences, and even went out of his way to bring by the extra food he had for them later on in the day.
I cannot give Purr Nation enough praise. They made this entire process easy from start to finish, and you can tell how much each member we talked to deeply cares about the cats. They even followed up with us a few weeks later to ensure the transition for the kittens was going smoothly. If you are thinking about adopting some kittens or cats in the area, you have to use Purr Nation. They will not only give you amazing customer service, but clearly care about their animals as well.
I have included pictures of our kittens in their new home!
UPDATE
I wasn't sure how to properly provide an update on our amazing boys, so I figured I would update the previous review. I wanted to check in and let Purr Nation know that the two boys they fostered, and were kind enough to pass onto us, are doing wonderful.
I'm not sure how often you guys get updates on how the kittens you fostered are doing, but I wanted to let you know its been 5 months since our review and we are still over the moon with Appa and Momo. They have been wonderful additions to the house and are the best friends we could have asked for.
They both love to cuddle, particularly laying on our chests and sleeping on our shoulders. They have favorite toys they carry everywhere and they love playing with each other. They sleep with us every night and love being in whichever room we are in.
Thank you again for the wonderful service and for helping us to find our boys. 🙂
I've included new pictures of the boys to show how much bigger they...
Read moreThe organization is wonderful and helps hundreds of cats and kittens find forever homes every year. There are no cats kept at this location. The office is for administration, previously approved intakes, and scheduled meet and greets. All of the cats are kept in foster homes. You can see who is available and apply to adopt or foster, on the website or, visit the PetSmart in Woodstock every Saturday 11AM-2:30PM.
Purr Nation ALWAYS NEED MORE FOSTERS! PLEASE APPLY! Purrnation can only sponsor as many cats and kittens, as we have foster homes with space (and funding for vet care). If you find yourself in a situation where you know you can't offer a forever home but, you do have the right environment for a little while, you can be a foster! Vet costs are covered by the organization, however donations are always appreciated.
All you need to do to be a foster, is apply and be able to provide food with a safe, loving environment and have a little time to take your foster kitty to their appointments. Appointments are generally for vaccination, spay/neuter, adoption days or meet and greets! You can even choose your level. Older cats who are self sufficient, older kittens who just need to play, neonatal kittens who need round the clock care or kitties with special medical needs?
Give what you can, when you can, where you can, whether it be time, donations or adoption. Every kitty that finds a forever home, is a cat that has the best life.
If you find a neonate kitten, please be certain its mother hasn't been around for at least 4 hours. She may be moving her nest and can only move one at a time. Mom is the best caretaker for kittens under 6 weeks old and neonates (up to 4 weeks) need to be fed every 2 hours! If you see mom, keep an eye on them and apply to foster ASAP, you may be able to take them in and get mom spayed, when they are a bit older. If you end up taking the kitten, get KMR, feeding syringe and look up The Kitten Lady on YouTube ASAP.
If you are looking for a place to take a cat or kitten, to be surrendered, please do not bring them to the office. I know it's frustrating not to be able to find help fast but, there are so many unwanted and unclaimed pets, it's overwhelming for everyone, including animal rescue organizations. We help as many as we can but, unfortunately, can't help every kitty, as much as we want to! If you originally adopted from PurrNation, reach out to Ginger. Otherwise, please reach out to Lifeline, the Humane Society or your...
Read moreI am in awe and amazed how Purr Nation help find my furever family member, Diluc [Previously known as Julius ;) ] Its been awhile since I had a cat and honestly, was looking to love again after a heart break of losing my orange tabby. After many conversations and planning, I started to look around for any Foster organization for cats. At first, I did want a kitten, then I found Purr Nation and Mr Diluc. His photo captured my heart and I knew he already had me in his paws (can you blame me? Look at that face and tell me what a handsome and charming boy he is? 😜). His description of being a shy, cuddle bug is right on the nose. Our first time seeing each other, he was skidish (who wouldnt be after seeing a 31 year old, covid hair, crazy lady, crying the first time you meet them? 🤣) Purr Nation provided me folder of his health paperwork, chip info, and even feedback from his Foster parents! Both the foster parents and Purr Nation actually reached out to me on check in! Even though Mr Diluc is in his forever home, I can see the love and care Purr Nation does for any cats even after adoption. Their dedication on ensuring for these foster babies go to a forever home AND still providing any sort of assistance is astounding. Im happy, proud, and THANKFUL to work with Purr Nation on finding this sweet boy. (Hes King of the Castle now 👑)
Thank you again...
