Worst moving experience.
⢠1st I was expecting movers between 9 and 11 am on my moving day June 17th, 2020, 11 passes and I get a text about 11:10am stating that "Hello we hvae been delayed at as the Zippy Shell forklift has been notified to us that is not working. Currently waiting to hear back from Zippy Shell about how to proceed" I then get a call about 11:30 am stating that "We can't bring the container to you, but we can do a "loose load" I agreed, and they arrived and a truck more than 2xs the size of the container I purchased and were unsure of how much would fit in the container. At the last minute another mover arrived and stated that they were basically full, and I had to figure out the rest. At that time, I donated and threw away over $2000 worth of stuff. Zippy Shell then lied to me several times that my stuff. The manager that also arrived stated that this is not uncommon when working with Zippy Shell and 1-800-Packrat that they often must wait for containers because âthe forklift driver is always too high to deal with it.â ⢠Throughout the move I contacted Zippy Shell for a status update and was told my pickup was June 20th and that means they have until the 8th to get it to Kent, WA. Most of the move it had not even left Charlotte, NC. On the 8th there was no confirmation of arrival and when I called, I was told âhumm we donât know where your container is at this point but we can go ahead and put notes in for when you want it brought to you so you donât have to call back againâ ⢠I did not receive confirmation of arrival until Monday July 11th and called to schedule the delivery to me. I got a call on Tuesday that I needed to call back to be old they had to do a âloose unloadâ for no specified reason. I had to call back again to get more details to know if they were going to charge me or not. Apparently, they put it in another container and couldnât put it on their truck. I agreed again. ⢠When the movers arrived on 7/14, I was told âoh and we are sorry all of your boxes are crushed this was the way they came to us everything was just dumped into the container with no stacking or packing of the container.â I asked, âhow full it was?â and was told âit looked full, but everything was dumped in with no packing there was probably at least Âź of the container left if it was packed and stacked properly.â Meaning I left over $2000 worth of stuff on the other end for no reason. When I explained what Iâve gone through so far with Zippy Shell and 1-800-Packrat I was told that is the same feedback they get for all Zippy Shell and 1-800-Packrat customers. ⢠After the movers left, I found a missing chair (I have a dining room set of 4 and there were only 3) I called in and was basically told âfill out a claims formâ ⢠I have been completing the form as I have been unpacking and for some reason Zippy Shell is charging my card more money with original invoices.
I would never recommend Zippy Shell or...
Read moreAWFUL COMMUNICATION - We had a super pushy salesmen that was extremely responsive before we signed the contract to use them. However after we signed.. Crickets. They delivered the shell when they were supposed to and we were told that it would be a 5-8 day delivery window by the Sales guy. We only moved from Seattle to Spokane which is a 5 hour drive.. We called at 4.30pm on the Saturday after busting ass to pack it as quick as possible since the salesmen assured us that they should be able to get it Saturday. Oh yeah.. They dont work Saturdays. What moving company does not work Saturdays? That aside. They came and picked up the pod on Monday. And thats the last we have seen or heard about it. I have called and emailed and all they will tell me is "It is currently in transit and when it arrives at the Spokane warehouse we will be notified" What they mean is the other $1000 will be charged to our account at which time we are supposed to call and get someone to schedule the delivery. When we moved from GA to WA we used Pods and were given updates constantly about where our stuff was in the transport process. I am seriously pissed off at their lack of communication. Its absolutely horrendous and to not work on a weekend is BS. The pushy salesguy who is now AWOL assured us that they would be able to deliver the cube on Saturday as that should be enough time. However i am now told that they dont deliver Saturdays at all... That was the only reason i chose to use them as we both work and we needed the convenience of being able to do it at the weekend. I honestly do not recommend them at all.. I have no clue at this point where our stuff is. We are still within our "5-8 day delivery schedule" Which is also BS as it takes 5 hours to get here and you cannot tell me you dont have a schedule where it says when they are going to send it from one warehouse to the next. I honestly dont care at this point if it doesnt come for a few days. I just want to know and think we have a right to know. I will NEVER use them again and seriously discourage anyone else using them. WORST experience with a moving company EVER. Oh yeah and their phone system sucks. Its really noisy and hard to hear what they say. ** Update - I just heard back from them that it has now arrived at the Spokane warehouse and i should call to schedule delivery.. So i did and guess what. She cant tell me when that will be but is contacting the warehouse to get a delivery date. Oh.. And if you have stairs its an extra $90. WOW... so $2100 for a 17ft cube to go 290 miles and then you want me to pay an extra $90 for stairs. Is that for chiropractic treatment for the 2 movers we get for 3 hours? I will be amazed if we get it by the end...
Read moreLike many others have already stated I would recommend staying well clear if this company! Initial communication was great and delivery of the container was on time even with our requested date change. Being in the military I need weight tickets empty and full for my move to be reimbursed for costs, it was like pulling teeth to get those as no representative knew how to get me the tickets that I was very expressive about needing. I eventually got them from the company that came to pick the container up and was thankful for that portion. The disconnect is from here on out. They didnât notify me when the container departed (pickup June 4th 2020) we left on the 6th from Florida to transfer to Washington state and arrived on the 15th. During my travels I called multiple times to inquire about the status of my household goods with no help from customer service. The allotted time to transfer the stuff was 10-15 BUSINESS DAYS putting our drop date at the 25th. Now the 25th and multiple calls with no information on delivery of our goods. I requested to change my delivery to a terminal unload instead of home delivery to save time as it would have been a supposed 3-5 more days before it would be delivered to us. The container was late didnât arrive until July 2nd. We drove 2 hours to the terminal our unload time was 8-12 and we arrived at 1140 and our container wasnât there yet haha crazy right? Well the guy at the terminal was awesome and tracked down our stuff which was inbound and scheduled to arrive around 2-4pm. 330 rolls around and weâve been sitting there since 1140, the guy stated there were 2 trucks ahead of ours and he would have it out ASAP. 445 and we finally get our container! Unload the stuff into our U-Haul and depart by 630 that evening. Let me say that if you want to be your own logistics agent and deal with the added stress of wondering here your goods are then choose zippyshell, I canât speak for local moves but DO NOT USE THEM FOR LONG DISTANCE!!! They were late and very unprofessional in shipment management. Never again will I trust a third party shipping company to move our stuff, next time Iâll be renting a 26â moving truck and doing it ourselves! Hope this gives some insight to potential customers. Save your money! For the tune of 2800.00 it was not...
