Went to the store at 8:51pm today at the Kentwood Store and observed a shopper coming out. A man was pacing back and forth. She seemed uncomfortable and tried to go back in, but the doors looked behind her. I then attempted to go into the store and all of the doors were locked. The sign outside says 9pm. I called the store and promptly new store associate Sara politely answered. She said she would page the floor manger and also did so promptly. This female floor manager promptly answered (I believe she was caught accidentally in the pic I was taking of the store hours which clearly said 9pm) tried to deflect as best she could, but stupidity did not evade her. I asked for a regional manager and an email. She said the Regional goes by Sammie and she can’t give out her personal information. Hello? I didn’t ask for personal information. Usually professionals have a business email. I have responded that I didn’t ask for her personal information, and I would assume it would be a business email. I don’t think you’re regional thinks you are that stupid. Apparently she was. She then stated it’s the policy to lock the doors at 10 minute till closing. Meanwhile, the door clearly says 9pm. If that’s the case the hours and the policy should be stated on the door 8:50pm / doors lock 10 minutes prior to closing. Then you won’t have a floor manger appearing stupid (in my opinion the newbie Sara had more common sense...
Read moreToday, I visited Von Maur with my girlfriend, and while she was trying on clothes in the dressing room, I waited outside to assist her in selecting dresses. A staff member(Chinese women) approached me and asked me to leave, claiming that another customer was not feeling well.
I found this request inappropriate and unjustified for the following reasons: There are no signs indicating separate dressing areas for men and women. There are no posted rules prohibiting men from waiting outside the dressing rooms. Without clear guidelines, asking me to leave felt unwarranted and discriminatory.
This experience made me feel humiliated, as it seemed to single me out unfairly without cause. I believe such behavior reflects poor customer service and possibly a bias. It’s disappointing to encounter this at a place I chose to shop...
Read moreCalled the store and asked about a certain pair of slippers if they had them, and they did! I’d been looking all over, stores online were sold out and Von Maur was the only store around I could find my size/color. They placed them on hold for me, and I say I’d be there before close to pick up. Well I had a family emergency earlier in the day and didn’t make it right away. Was on my way to pick them up around 4pm and received a call from the salesman that his coworker sold them! I appreciate him calling, but find it to be extremely rude that they sold the item under my nose, especially since it had a hold tag with my contact and that I’d be in by end of day. Definitely not the customer service I expected from this store and another reason to continue my...
