1 star for salesman, who was very nice and helpful 0 stars for the "warranty manager" -I can now see I am not the only one with this problem. I might suggest they get some new "techs" for their washer/dryer refurbishing if everyone is going to have the same issue...
I purchased a refurbished washer/dryer (as well as a living room set) from Prestige Home Furnishings in September. The sales person stressed how they stand behind their refurbished items. He stated that all used appliances are checked and cleared by two techs. If the item sells and anything goes wrong, one of the two techs would be sent out on their own dime to fix.
The items were delivered on 9/25. I was traveling from 10/7-10/28. Since I have returned, the dryer is making a VERY LOUD squeaking noise. I am sure it is just a belt or possibly a need for lubrication, so I called on 11/22 to see if someone could come out. I was told NO that it was past the 30 day warranty.
Doing laundry again on 11/28 the sound was unbearable so I called back again to see if sales person would talk to me and again I got the woman who manages the warranties (refraining from including their names). I tried to appeal to her by letting her know I am a single mom, that's why I had to buy refurbished and that I was gone for three weeks and I hadn't even been technically using the dryer for 30 days. She just kept repeating "sorry, it's past the 30 days." There was no budging on her part at all. She was curt and rude. I asked if she was the owner and she said she was the decision maker, implying she was the owner. Later in the conversation I realized she was not the owner, so I asked her to have him call me, so I could try to appeal to him as the business owner.
Between the washer/dryer and the furniture, we spent approx $1000 there that day. You would think that they could send one of the techs out to keep good customers happy. I understand they have a warranty/policy, but this is a paper driven company and there are no computer locks for her to work around to send someone out past their warranty. After all of the "we stand behind our product" rhetoric we got from the salesman (who I really liked btw), I would think that the person behind the desk would want to keep that mindset as well. I wasn't calling 6 months later or even 3 months later. It was more like 45 days, when the dryer wasn't even used for most of that time...
My main issue is that we were led to believe that Prestige Home furnishings stands behind their refurbished items. I am also disappointed at the lack of communication skills by an employee who is in a position that requires clear communication-not just the same sentence curtly repeated over and over. The "person in charge of warranties" clearly has the power and ability to assist/resolve an issue such as mine, but chose not to - she also stated that the sales person would not have that ability to help me either, as her word was final (implying that I should not bother calling him tomorrow). If there was any empathy on her part or if she had the ability to properly convey her decision making process or if she even had the slightest bit of consideration for the customer, then I might not be writing...
Read moreIf I could I would give them zero stars or negative stars. On January 29th I saw a post in marketplace, decided to give prestige a try, I was approved for $1700 prior to showing up. so after work I went over there and was shown a GE scratch n dent washer and dryer, dark gray, nice looking . The told me that this set was still under the one year warranty honored by GE. I was also told that after they purchased them, their repair man ran them to make sure they worked, dish detergent could be seen where you pore it. They couldn’t deliver till that next Monday. February 4th I received the appliances, I was told to wait 48 hours before running the washer. The dryer was hooked up and during the test run, it sounded like two trapped gremlins trying to get out of the dryer. Posted a video of the noise, also posting a pic of the delivery receipt written on it about the noise. I was tempted to tell them to return them. I was advised to call prestige Warrenty dept. they apologized and credited my account $60, the finance company didn’t receive that request. I was instructed to call the GE warranty number and have GE repair it under warranty, I wasn’t happy about having to call and file a warranty claim. I had to register the appliances with GE then get a service call scheduled. I did all that and had to wait till February 11th for I thru a small load int the washer, it threw an H2O error message and didn’t spin the water out of the clothes. Now the washer needs warranty repairs. The repairman, (Kevin) called me instead of showing up for the appointment. He explained that they do not service scratch n dent appliances. That prestige is supposed to repair any faulty scratch n dent appliances purchased from their warehouse before selling to the public. GE will cover the cost of parts to fix the appliance with the retailer, not with the consumer. I called prestige and was told ALL SAYS FINAL, NO REFUNDS. I was instructed to call the financing company, I informed them I would sue, their response go ahead and sue, then hung up on me. I called Progressive leasing and they handled the situation extremely professionally , definitely a five star company. I explained everything in great detail. They assured me they would cancel the remainder of my contract and not charge me the weekly payment. Scheduled a time to pick up the merchandise February 13th. Will investigate the fact that Prestige sold me appliances that had not been repaired. All in all I’m out the initial $58 it cost to start the contract. Like I told progressive home furnishings, I will be filing a civil lawsuit in small claims court against their company. I will be filing a detailed complaint to the better business bureau. I also went to SEARS OUTLET, in Huberheights, got $2500 90 day loan. New washer dryer, new Ashley electric reclining love seat, LG microwave oven and a shark vacuum cleaner, for less...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of shopping at "Prestige Home Furnishings," a family-owned furniture, appliance, and mattress store that has truly made a mark in the local community. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of exceptional, and I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Walking into Prestige Home Furnishings, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The store showcases a wide range of furniture, appliances, and mattresses.
What set this store apart for me was the staff. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a friendly associate who took the time to understand my needs and preferences. Unlike other stores where the staff may be pushy or uninformed, Andrew, my sales associate, was knowledgeable and genuinely concerned about helping me find the right items. Andrew walked me through the different options, highlighting features that might be important for my lifestyle. It felt more like a personalized consultation than a sales pitch, and I truly appreciated that.
One of the significant advantages of shopping at Prestige Home Furnishings is their financing options. They offer no credit check financing, which was a relief for me as I’ve had some challenges in the past. This made the purchasing process seamless and stress-free, allowing me to focus on finding the right items rather than worrying about financial hurdles. The flexible payment options are a huge plus for anyone, especially first-time buyers or those on a budget.
I was also impressed by their next-day delivery service. After finalizing my purchases—a stunning dining set and a high-quality mattress—they assured me that my items would be delivered the very next day. I had anticipated a lengthy wait, but their commitment to quick and efficient service truly set them apart. The delivery team was punctual, professional, and handled everything with care, which made the entire process even more enjoyable.
Beyond the products and services, it’s clear that Prestige Home Furnishings values its customers. After my delivery, I received a follow-up call to ensure I was satisfied with everything. This kind of post-purchase care is rare in retail and shows how much the owners and staff care about their customers’ satisfaction.
Overall, my experience at Prestige Home Furnishings was outstanding! The combination of exceptional customer service, quality products, no credit check financing, and next-day delivery made this a shopping experience to remember. The friendly staff made me feel like part of the family, which is a testament to the store’s values as a family-owned business.
If you’re in the market for furniture, appliances, or mattresses, do yourself a favor and visit Prestige Home Furnishings. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you, Prestige Home Furnishings, for a wonderful shopping experience! I’ll definitely be returning for...
