Omg This was my first time Ever eating at Longhorn Steakhouse! I had no idea that it was going to be such a nice restaurant!?! I walked into My Moraine, Dayton Ohio restaurant w my parents who flew in from Florida and my Grandkids! The delightful smells were amazing! Yummy! The decorations were so fun and interesting to look at! All from the South West! Old antiques, big beautiful paintings in huge gorgeous frames, old photographs, artifacts!! Then the hostess who was so nice took us to our table, where we met our Server and we received our menus! Our Server was the Most delightful knowledgeable Great personality young man!! He was very Accommodating! I was SHOCKED that this was a restaurant that server alcoholic beverages and fine dining selections for meals!!! I was Totally under the impression for YEARs that Longhorn Steakhouse was like a Golden Corral or maybe an old ponderosa/Jed's? and that there wld be buffet or salad bar! Haha! But Longhorn Steakhouse It's an actual a nice casual restaurant w fine dining selections that won't break your wallet!! I ordered a Strawberry Margarita light on the tequila w sugar on rim! And a ribeye steak , baked potato and salad! Our server brought out WARM homemade bread for our table w butter and Our "dinner salads" which absolutely cld have been a dinner MEAL they were Huge!! It was delicious tho! My granddaughter and I both had been craving baked potatoes so with our dinners we ordered those which when mine came it had cheese and bacon butter and it was Huge! That also could be a dinner by itself too! My Ribeye Steak was Huge! My brother thought I ordered the big one but nope it was the smaller ounce one but it was huge! Oh boy it was perfect my dinner! Everybody loved their dinners so very much!! And 2 grandkids, my oldest brother and I all had boxes to take lots of leftover home which gave me 2 lunches and a dinner the next night! LOL It was very kind my father paid for all of us!! I have told everyone I talked with the last 4 days that they shld go eat there if they haven't already and I plan on going back soon!(my granddaughters want to try the desserts so maybe we will also try a lunch there?! Our server is what made the whole experience the best tho! He was fun and delightful!...
Read moreLet me start by saying the only saving grace on this visit was that the food was prepared completely correctly and it was very tasty.
When we walked in there were two groups of two ahead of us waiting for a table. The restaurant wasn't even half full and they couldn't seem to find an empty table. When it was our turn, we asked for a booth, and we saw about six of them available, we were told they were short-staffed and we couldn't sit in certain areas. The hostess proceeded to leave, prepare a table for someone else, come back to the stand, burped out loud and then laid herself across the hostess stand while she was chatting with a co-worker, trying to find out where they were going to seat us. The thought crossed my mind that maybe we were the wrong color, but we didn't go there at that time. We were finally brought to a booth that was directly in front of a very large group of people and we asked if we could move across the aisle where it would be a little less quiet. They did accommodate us ... which brings up the question...why was it so difficult to find us a table if they had several available? (The lamp at our table was out, but I fiddled with it a bit, took off the shade, put it back on and it worked...there was no on-off switch....It's the little things, you know.)
The manager evidently was told something about us and she came to our table. We chose not to say anything to her, I thought this might be more effective.
Our server came, she was polite and took our order. Our salads came and our entrees came less than a minute after the salads. We had to ask for bread 3 times but our water glasses were always full. When it came time for dessert, our server stood behind me and asked over my shoulder if we were interested in dessert. I think the proper way to do that would be to stand at our table, look at our faces and ask, but at that point it was...whatever. So, whoever was in the kitchen had their act together and the food was excellent.
Would I recommend this particular Longhorn? If I knew they were fully staffed and had improved their customer service...
Read moreI just took me and my children here after church. I didn’t catch the server name. She did not have a name tag on. But she did have brown hair. Her teeth were a little rotted. She was a white female. We were on the back row right by the kitchen. I asked the server to give us just a minute before ordering she came back 17 minutes later then when our food did finally get there, the server never came back to ask how the food was until 14 minutes after we needed multiple things I got up and got us napkins because that was something she failed to do. Every time I was waiting for it was just like I was waiting and waiting and waiting Because she was outside on her smoke break. She literally took three smoke breaks the whole time that we were there. I just felt like it was a very trashy environment that I was just in because of the server and the treatment that we got. Your cigarettes can wait When you have a table just because my food came out doesn’t give you the right to go smoke a cigarette for 13 minutes and then come back and ask if everything’s OK. Do I want to smell that cigarette not at all? Then I asked her for two boxes. She brought me two boxes and gave me my bill then I realized I needed two more boxes. I was just sitting there. I’m like where is this lady at what is going on. So I went up to the bar asked the bar for Some boxes came back. She still wasn’t there. Then finally she comes back to clear the table off I’m like can you please take this bill? I am ready to go. I have things to do. I just thought it was very unprofessional which we’re really not in a professional establishment anyways but I feel like she could’ve been a little more professional with her job. You work for tips why wouldn’t you wanna make a tip off...
