Yesterday, I came in like 611 told me to. The customer before me got great customer service, manager even told him she couldn't help him, bc he had no ID, but then had a change of heart and decided to help him anyways with no identification. I was thinking for the 20 mins waiting...wow, she's going out of her way and breaking the rules for this guy. I hope she helps me with that much patience too. Right off the bat, after patiently waiting forever, she was rude and started helping the next customer that walked in after me. She was excited to help everyone EXCEPT me. I had to interrupt and get her to help ME...bc it was MY turn in line. I just waited 20 mins, and she starts helping the chick that just walks in instead?! She started saying she can't accept the card I brought in bc it had no chip...but Boost next door can...and at least tried before refusing attempt of payment. This "manager" refused to give me a $5 credit like 611 just told me they would give me, she raised her voice and aggressively swung the computer screen around and started being super unprofessional. I told her that her customer service skills are not pleasurable, and maybe I should apply for her position. She then smirked and said, "You don't know Spanish, you can't work here." I actually was married to a Mexican for 20 years and then I proceeded to talk to her in Spanish. Funny way to DISCRIMINATE. Bc I am white, the manager assumed I didn't know Spanish. I was also the Store Manager that opened T-Mobile out in Belton, so I am also familiar with ethics, policies, and discrimination. Completely unacceptable. There should be consequences for these actions. Imagine me, working at Cricket, and assume that my customer doesn't know English, bc of their skin color. Pure assumption and discrimination... And imagine I actually say this to a paying customer.
You and I are no different from one another. You have no right to tell me I can't work at Cricket because you think I don't know Spanish. Are you admitting you ONLY hire Bilingual employees? Are you thinking I can't ever be married to a Spanish speaking human and learn from them after 20 years together? Don't assume things about your customers just because of a skin color. This is illegal and I reported it...
