Absolute train wreck of a store! You walk into 3 young associates who do not bother to even acknowledge you but hey they were to busy singing to the music and talking amongst each other. I start looking around at the front because this was my 1st time (and last) in the store and they still do not acknowledge my presence (I am standing literally 10ft away from all 3 looking a bit dazed as there was so much clutter everywhere that you did not really have a focus point to look at. I then make my way back to the menās shirts (thatās what I came in for) and I find that yes they may be colorized but sizing..GOOD LUCK!!!! It was a total roll of the dice what size you were going to come to nextā¦.S,XL,L,M,XXLā¦ā¦but worse than that was that the racks were sooooo tight that you could not slide a hanger left or right, not a single cm!! There were shirts fallen down under the racks, horrible and the smell, grandmas attic. But lucky for me I did find 3 tshirts and after wandering the womenās section which I actually pulled about 10 pair of shorts off the rack just so I could see what was on it the bar was that tight. But a laughable moment was when I picked up a pair of Walmart tennis shoes that looked like they were 15yrs old and a mess and out of curiosity looked at the tag, $35! Ohhh myyy! This store is in big trouble if they do not find fashionable buyers and fix their floor. So then I go to the register to pay, total inconvenience for them I could tell but one of the menās tshirts still had the store tag $6.88 and they were pricing it $10. I showed Faith, my cashier who took it over to another young girl and came back and said āthis is what our system priced it at, nothing we can doā I said no thanks I will go buy it new. As a DM for Uptown Cheapskate, I would be appalled if one of my stores looked like this or my associates treated customers with such disregard to not even say hello upon entering. I was very excited to see this store and go in until I got in it. If I were the owner of this franchised store I would strongly consider an overhaul or it just is not going to last long in the current condition. Very very sad to see. There is soooo much potential in these resale stores if run properly but these are deadly to the longevity of the store mistakes. I hope this review is taken with care as it is not to degrade but is to help. I wish success for any business owner, especially in resale!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI enjoy bringing my daughter to Plato's. It's honestly very reasonably priced. I'm giving it a two, because although you can get very nice clothing for A good deal. It's a very tight fit in there to begin with (who doesn't love having more to choose from, right?) But there are are seemingly always a ton of employees clogging up the already right fit. Some are nice and very professional, apologetic even. But for the most part you get a dirty look for asking to excuse yourself by. Today was the worst, and I'm not sure I'm returning. I brought my daughter in prepared to but her whatever she wanted. There was an employee who was extremely sweet and professional who offered to help quite a bit, but everyone else seemed quite annoyed with our presence, cutting us off and stepping in front of us to put things away. (To be fair I'm fairly sure they were reorganizing the store) I asked to use the restroom and was told that there wasn't one and I would need to go to Jason's deli. That's all good and fine, I gave my daughter another round of clothes to try on in the fitting and ran next door, leaving her "keep pile" on the bench. Upon my return I noticed her clothing I had left behind had been picked up and taken back to the racks. This frustrated me well enough, bit the response I got when i asked where the clothes went was nothing short of humiliating. When the ladies realized they had made a mistake, it seemed as if they were going out of their way to make it my fault. One woman dramatically asked me if I needed help finding the clothing and asked me do describe them to her. When I did, she acted as of what I was explaining was from another planet. Picked through a couple hangers and walked away leaving me to re find it all myself. After I found it all we went to the register to check out. When though there were 5 workers standing there speaking to another about former employees we were left standing there waiting to check out.
Moral of the story is: I was prepared to spend well more than the $100 I did in that store yesterday, but as we felt totally in the way and unwelcome, we chose to go ahead and head to the mall and pay full price for what we wanted. The money doesn't out weigh the hassle...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store's policy on dropping off clothes to sell does not accommodate mothers of small children. DO NOT come here and sell your clothes if you have a little one. First of all, if you have your arms full with a baby and a basket full of clothes, any decent person would help with the door, but no not here! Also, YouHAVE to be present in the store for 20+ minutes in order for them to go thru your clothes in a timely manner, otherwise, if you leave for any reason it's an hour and a half wait. If you have a baby with a schedule, too bad! I had to run to goodwill and drop off some items and was hoping to come back to the store and pick up whatever items they didn't buy, before my baby's nap time. They did not accommodate me at all. I hope the owner reads this and makes proper accommodations for their customers. There is NO SEATING for people waiting for clothes to be gone thru. The only seating is an awful metal bench by the dressing rooms which only seats 3- barely any room for a squirming baby, and of course 2 ppl were already sitting there. I ended up waiting 35 minutes not 20. In the end they only offered $30 for 6 pairs of never worn shoes, brand name shoes, a $125 pair of Steve Madden boots in the pile. I refused the money bc it was not worth my time. The manager was so reluctant to accommodate me when I asked her to help me carry my bin of shoes back to my car, I honestly can only imagine the messed up fear the owner has placed in the minds of their employees- to not help a woman with a baby. I understand their policy helps them make money, that the benches by the dressing rooms are well placed to make money, but kindness is important in life too. This is the last time I'll ever go to a Platos closet. I'd rather give my things to Goodwill and actually use the real value of my items on my tax deduction. Thank you for reading my experience, I hope it...
